Passing the 300m, CES BON (US) (W Buick) rolled inwards causing BARAG (FR) (D O’Donohoe) to be steadied. Shortly after this, DAS EL SAMER (AE) (R Thomas) improved to the inside of ROYAL EPIC (US) (T Durcan) and in doing so shifted in crowding CES BON (US) for room. Passing the 200m, Jockey R Thomas (DAS EL SAMER [AE]) then elected to alter course around the heels of ROYAL EPIC (US) to obtain clear running. Jockey R Thomas (DAS EL SAMER [AE]), who was given permission to weigh out at 53kg (being +1kg over his allotted weight), returned to scale and weighed in at 53.9kg, which constituted a breach of ERA Rule 65(ii), given that this was more than his correct weight. After taking into account Jockey R Thomas’ explanation, the Stewards issued a reprimand and advised Jockey R Thomas that he would not be allowed to accept rides at less than 53kg.
