On return to the scales, an objection was lodged by the 2nd placed rider, W Smith (FANTASTIC DUBAI [USA]) against the 1st placed HAJJAAN (USA) (R Hills), alleging interference inside the final 150m. After considering the evidence of both riders and also the patrol footage available, whilst the Stewards conceded that HAJJAAN (USA) had shifted outwards and that FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) was impeded as a result of this shift, they could not be fully satisfied that FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) would have won the race had the interference not occurred. Accordingly, the objection was dismissed and the placings remained as: 1st – HAJJAAN (USA) 2nd – FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) 3rd – LEAGUE CHAMPION (USA) HAJJAAN (USA) was crowded at the start between INDIAN SKIPPER (IRE) (W Supple) and DUBAI SET (GB) (T Durcan). MUSLEH (USA) (S Al Mazrooei) was crowded and eased shortly after the start between STRECKER (USA) (H Bentley) and FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA). FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) and SERHAAL (IRE) (T O’Shea) bumped leaving the 600m. HAJJAAN (USA) commenced to shift ground outwards leaving the 400m and approaching the 150m, FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) was obliged to be eased and alter course to the inside of HAJJAAN (USA). On enquiry, Jockey R Hills (HAJJAAN [USA]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 1 day (Abu Dhabi 20th March, 2011) and fined AED 2,500.
