A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) (P Cosgrave) was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, LUJAIN (AE) (K Fallon) and RS MUJAHID (AE) (R Ffrench) were crowded for room between HOPE (AE) (W Smith), and RS KHAAN (AE) (C Taylor), which drifted outwards. RAKKAD AL ASAYL (AE) (J Rosales) raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 1000m, RAKKAD AL ASAYL (AE) drifted outwards, this resulted in LUJAIN (AE) shifting outwards slightly and brushing with RS MUJAHID (AE), which caused RS MUJAHID (AE) to shift outwards abruptly. HOPE (AE) and AS KAHILA (AE) (G Avranche), which were racing to the outside of RS MUJAHID (AE) at this time, were both carried wider on the track. Leaving the 150m, AF DISAN (AE) (T O’Shea), which was laying inwards, had to be eased when RAKKAD AL ASAYL (AE) ran outwards. A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) raced very greenly in the straight.

After arriving at the starting gates, Jockey R Ffrench became indisposed, was examined by the Ambulance Officers and deemed unfit to ride. Consequently, MASHARREF (GB) was a late scratching at 5:29pm. Jockey R Ffrench was subsequently relieved of his remaining riding engagements. AF ALGHABRA (AE) (W Supple) jumped inwards at the start and bumped with MORHAF (GB) (C Taylor). Shortly after straightening, MESHWAR (AE) (H Bentley) was disappointed for a run to the inside of JAZEERAT ALSADYAAT (FR) (K Fallon). Jockey K Fallon (JAZEERAT ALSADYAAT [FR]) was fined AED 2000 for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(i) in that he used his whip in the forehand position forward of the saddle. After the running of this race, Jockey D Smith was examined by the Club’s Medical Officer and was deemed unfit to fulfill his remaining riding engagements.

ADJINN D’AROCO (FR) (R Hills) and EJAABI (FR) (T O’Shea) were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, AL MANNSOUB (FR) (R Cleary) was crowded and raced in restricted room to the inside of SERAPHIN DU PAON (FR) (K Fallon). Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FARES AL SAHRA (GB) (P Cosgrave), when racing greenly, drifted inwards crowding KARMEL DE FAUST (FR) (R Mullen). KARMEL DE FAUST (FR) then bumped the running rail and became unbalanced. SERAPHIN DU PAON (FR), which was following FARES AL SAHRA (GB) at this time, had to be eased. Leaving the 2000m, FARES AL SAHRA (GB) was restrained by its rider P Cosgrave, when racing in restricted room between KARMEL DE FAUST (FR) and ADJINN D’AROCO (FR). SERAPHIN DU PAON (FR), which was following FARES AL SAHRA (GB), had to be eased. When questioned regarding his riding of SERAPHIN DU PAON (FR) over the final 150m, Jockey K Fallon stated that after obtaining clear running at this stage of the race, he had elected to ride the horse using strong hands and heels, as he believed it was responding sufficiently. He further stated that in his opinion SERAPHIN DU PAON (FR) had every opportunity to run down the winner. Whilst accepting this explanation, the Stewards advised Jockey K Fallon that he was expected to ride his mounts out to the line at all times. As such Jockey K Fallon (SERAPHIN DU PAON [FR]) was reprimanded under ERA Rule 69(iii) in that he failed to ride his mount out adequately to the end of the race.

Stewards' Reports for Wathba Stud Farm Cup For Private Owners Only
The Stewards were advised by Jockey R Mullen that there was some confusion with regard to his engagement for SS WALLADEH (AE) at an allotted weight of 52kg, in that he thought that he had been engaged to ride its stablemate at 54kg. In light of this confusion, and given Jockey R Mullen’s ability to normally ride at the lighter weight (plus 1kg overweight), no action was taken for him failing to fulfill his engagement at the correct weight. Furthermore, in light of the fact that there were no other available riders to ride at 52kg or 1kg overweight, Jockey R Mullen was given permission to ride 1.5kg overweight at 53.5kg. Jockey R Mullen was advised that he must ensure that he is fully aware of what riding engagements he has for each race meeting at declarations stage, and that if he is to be unable to fulfill any of the engagements, early advice must be provided to the Stewards and connections of the horse. SS WALLADEH (AE) (R Mullen), AL MABROUK (FR) (W Supple), SHAHB ALFIRSAN (AE) (D O’Donohoe) and DJELMAN (FR) (M Aida) were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, SS WALLADEH (AE) raced keenly and ran inwards abruptly, bumping with AL MABROUK (FR). SS WALLADEH (AE) then continued to run inwards abruptly and made contact with the running rail near the 1400m. Leaving the 900m, the tiring AF SATTAM (AE) (R Cleary) shifted inwards causing SHAHB ALFIRSAN (AE) to shift inwards, which resulted in AL JARWANE (FR) (C Sanchez) being restrained and losing its position. On the evidence available, the Stewards were of the view that the interference suffered by AL JARWANE (FR) was due to the tiring AF SATTAM (AE) shifting inwards and, as such, no action was taken against any one rider.
