ABERFELDY (GB) (D O’Donohoe) was slow to begin. FRYVOLOUS (FR) (K Fallon) was crowded at the start between KANDAR DU FALGAS (FR) (T O’Shea) and SANTHAL (FR) (W Supple). Leaving the 1400m, FRYVOLOUS (FR) and AMOKING (US) (A Ajtebi) raced in restricted room and both had to be eased when NO RISK AL MAURY (FR) (R Hills) shifted inwards. Jockey R Hills (NO RISK AL MAURY [FR]) was advised to ensure that he affords his fellow riders sufficient clearance when shifting ground. FRYVOLOUS (FR) had a tendency to drift inwards over the final 200m.

NAJOUM (USA) (T Durcan) jumped awkwardly. CHOCOLICIOUS (SAF) (R Moore) raced keenly in the early stages and leaving the 1300m was eased when EMPIRE ROSE (ARG) (K Shea) shifted inwards slightly. Approaching the 1200m, ARTIC ROSE (IRE) (E Yavuz) and NAJOUM (USA) raced in restricted room and bumped, and ARTIC ROSE (IRE) was ultimately restrained and lost ground, when racing to the inside of ABTASAAMAH (USA) (L Dettori), which was racing to the inside of REEM (AUS) (P Cosgrave), both of which were looking to go forward and take up a prominent position. On enquiry, it was established that whilst REEM (AUS) and ABTASAAMAH (USA) had shifted across to the rail, they had both done so when clear, and it was the racing manners of ARTIC ROSE (IRE), which had commenced to race very strongly when NAJOUM (USA) improved to its inside, which was the main contributing factor to the interference. As such, no action was taken against any rider. REEM (AUS) returned with a laceration to its left hind.

ATLANTIC BRAVE (GB) (W Smith) and LAA RAYB (USA) (K Fallon) jumped awkwardly. ESCAPE ROUTE (USA) (R Mullen) and HAPPY DUBAI (IRE) (D O’Donohoe) bumped on jumping. ASHRAM (IRE) (L Dettori) and LAA RAYB (USA) brushed rounding the home bend. ASHRAM (IRE) was impeded for clear running after rounding the home bend until approaching the 300m. MCCARTNEY (GER) (H Bentley) raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of ATLANTIC BRAVE (GB), Jockey W Smith was of the opinion that the horse was unsuited by racing on the turf track. A post-race veterinary examination of ATLANTIC BRAVE (GB) revealed no abnormalities.

COLONY (IRE) (P Cosgrave) jumped awkwardly. DR FAUSTUS (IRE) (P Dobbs) was slow to begin. Approaching the 1600m, LION SANDS (GB) (C Sanchez) and BIRBONE (FR) (R Mullen) raced tight to the inside of HALICARNASSUS (IRE) (T O’Shea), which was racing to the inside of ROCHDALE (GB) (R Ffrench). At this point, BIRBONE (FR) was restrained and lost its position. DR FAUSTUS (IRE), which was racing behind and to the inside of BIRBONE (FR), was eased. WONDER LAWN (SAF) (K Shea), which was following BIRBONE (FR) was inconvenienced and obliged to alter course. MAN OF IRON (USA) (K Fallon), which was following WONDER LAWN (SAF), was also eased at this time. On enquiry, the Stewards accepted the evidence of the riders that the lack of pace in the race had contributed to the field racing very tightly and, at this particular point on the bend when the horses changed their leads, a slight shift had resulted in BIRBONE (FR) ultimately losing its position. Whilst taking no action against any rider, all riders were advised to exercise care in similar circumstances. Leaving the 1300m, DR FAUSTUS (IRE) and LION SANDS (GB) bumped, which crowded LION SANDS (GB) out onto COLONY (IRE), resulting in LION SANDS (GB) being eased from its position. BIRBONE (FR), which was following, clipped the heels of LION SANDS (GB) and blundered. A post-race veterinary examination of ROCK N ROLL RANSOM (GB) (R Moore) revealed the gelding to be lame in the left fore. Trainer Mr M Al Zarooni was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again. BURDLAZ (IRE) (A Ajtebi) returned with a laceration to its left hind. MR FASLIYEV (IRE) (W Supple) returned with an abrasion to its left hind.

GREEN COAST (IRE) (T O’Shea) jumped awkwardly. FENCING MASTER (GB) (R Moore) was crowded for room on jumping between MENDIP (USA) (L Dettori) and MR BROCK (SAF) (K Shea), which was taken inwards by COLONIAL (IRE) (T Durcan), which jumped inwards. MAC LOVE (GB) (M Fenton) raced keenly in the early stages. MABAIT (GB) (K Fallon) raced wide until the middle stages. Leaving the 300m, IMBONGI (SAF) (C Soumillon) was impeded for clear running behind FROZEN POWER (IRE) (R Ffrench) and had to alter course. When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of MABAIT (GB), Jockey K Fallon advised that the wide draw had resulted in the horse travelling wide and this had contributed to its performance. When questioned regarding the performance of STORM ULTRALIGHT (ARG), Jockey A Ajtebi stated that at no stage of the race had the colt travelled well and in his opinion he was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of STORM ULTRALIGHT (ARG) (A Ajtebi) revealed no abnormalities although it had sustained a laceration to the left hind. When questioned regarding the performance of FENCING MASTER (GB), Jockey R Moore stated that the colt did not travel well in running and found nothing when put under pressure in the straight.

Stewards' Reports for Master Collection
CLASP (GB) (R Mullen) jumped awkwardly. COMRADESHIP (IRE) (E Yavuz) raced keenly in the early stages. BRONZE CANNON (USA) (T Durcan) was held up for clear running rounding the home bend and bumped with MR CRAZY BOY (ARG) (R Cleary) leaving the 200m. LE DRAKKAR (AUS) (C Lemaire) was held up for clear running rounding the home bend, and leaving the 200m was obliged to alter course to the outside of WAR MONGER (USA) (T O’Shea) when that horse drifted inwards slightly. LE DRAKKAR (AUS) then drifted outwards carrying CLASP (GB) wider on the track and over the concluding stages the two horses bumped heavily. Jockey B Reis (HOT SIX [BRZ]) was fined AED 1000 for breaching ERA Rule 65(ii) in that he weighed in 1kg over his Correct Weight after the running of the race.
