HAPPY DUBAI (IRE) (R Ffrench) cast it’s near fore plate on the way to the starting gates requiring it to be re-shod, which resulted in a delay to the starting time of this race. ROCK JOCK (IRE) (W Supple) and INVINCIBLE ASH (IRE) (G Carroll) bumped on jumping. Approaching the 300m, MONSIEUR JOE (IRE) (R Moore) was badly impeded for clear running between the tiring MUTHEEB (USA) (R Hills) and INVINCIBLE ASH (IRE), bumping with INVINCIBLE ASH (IRE) for a short distance, and was ultimately eased and obliged to alter course around INVINCIBLE ASH (IRE). MUTHEEB (USA) returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that MUTHEEB (USA) would not be permitted to start until it had passed a satisfactory gallop test in the presence of an ERA Veterinary Officer, to be conducted not before 21 days from the date of bleeding. MONSIEUR JOE (IRE) returned having lost its near fore plate in running.

When questioned regarding the performance of ETCHED (USA), Jockey A Ajtebi advised that the horse did not travel well at any stage of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of ETCHED (USA) revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore. POET’S VOICE (GB) (L Dettori) drifted out under pressure over the concluding stages carrying WIGMORE HALL (IRE) wider on the track. Jockey L Dettori (POET’S VOICE [GB]) dropped his whip leaving the 300m. Jockey J Murtagh advised that STEELE TANGO (USA) raced keenly and had a tendency to hang outwards throughout.
