IMBONGI (SAF) (C Soumillon) jumped awkwardly. Leaving the 1500m, ZAFEEN SPEED (GB) (W Smith) raced keenly to the inside of HEARTS OF FIRE (GB) (J Murtagh) for a short distance. AS DE TREBOL (USA) (O Peslier) raced keenly in the early stages and leaving the 1200m was eased and altered course around the heels of I WANT REVENGE (USA) (R Dominguez), when that horse shifted inwards. After pulling up, it was established that RILEYSKEEPINGFAITH (GB) (A Ajtebi) had injured its left fore leg and was subsequently transported to the Dubai Equine Hospital for further observation, and it was subsequently reported that RILEYSKEEPINGFAITH (GB) was lame in the left fore. KINSALE KING (USA) was a late scratching at 3:05pm on veterinary advice after the gelding was found to be lame in the right fore. Trainer Mr C O’Callaghan was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again. DIM SUM (GB) (D Beadman) jumped outwards at the start and bumped CHARLIE’S MOMENT (USA) (L Dettori). SUNNY KING (IRE) (G Mosse) and EUROEARS (USA) (M Smith) bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start, DYNAMIC BLITZ (AUS) (O Doleuze) bumped between FORCE FREEZE (USA) (K Fallon) and SUNNY KING (IRE) for a short distance. SUNNY KING (IRE) and DYNAMIC BLITZ (AUS) then raced in restricted room for a short distance between FORCE FREEZE (USA) and EUROEARS (USA), when EUROEARS (USA) shifted inwards. SUNNY KING (IRE) was ultimately obliged to ease from its position at this time. On enquiry, Jockey M Smith (EUROEARS [USA]) was reprimanded and advised that he must ensure that he is clear when he shifts ground in future. A short distance later, leaving the 1100m, FORCE FREEZE (USA) was eased from between CHARLIE’S MOMENT (USA) and EUROEARS (USA), and shifted outwards crowding DYNAMIC BLITZ (AUS) out onto SUNNY KING (IRE), resulting in DYNAMIC BLITZ (AUS) having to be eased.

DEBUSSY (IRE) (A Ajtebi) jumped awkwardly. PRESVIS (GB) (R Moore) was slow to begin. WIGMORE HALL (IRE) (J Spencer) and ROYAL BENCH (IRE) (O Peslier) bumped on jumping. Approaching the 1400m, ROYAL BENCH (IRE) was restrained and lost its position when racing to the inside of BANKABLE (IRE) (K Shea), which was racing to the inside of MENDIP (USA) (L Dettori). On enquiry, it was established that BANKABLE (IRE) and MENDIP (USA) had both shifted inwards. Evidence presented from the riders indicated that MENDIP (USA) was not travelling truly at this stage of the race and also that ROYAL BENCH (IRE) had over-reacted when initially crowded for room. Taking into account the evidence available, the Stewards were not satisfied that any one rider was culpable for the interference suffered by ROYAL BENCH (IRE), and as such no action was taken against any rider. WIGMORE HALL (IRE) was held up for clear running rounding the home bend until passing the 250m. RIVER JETEZ (SAF) (B Fayd’Herbe) was held up for clear running rounding the home bend to the inside of TAZEEZ (USA) (T O’Shea) and the two horses bumped for a short distance. Shortly after straightening, RAIHANA (AUS) (C Soumillon) was impeded behind the tiring DEBUSSY (IRE) and to the inside of MENDIP (USA). RAIHANA then bumped with MENDIP (USA) for a short distance when endeavouring to obtain clear running. A short distance later, MENDIP (USA), after having become unbalanced, drifted inwards, which crowded RAIHANA (AUS) in onto DEBUSSY (IRE), resulting in both RAIHANA (AUS) and DEBUSSY (IRE) having to be restrained. On enquiry, Jockey C Soumillon (RAIHANA [AUS]) was reprimanded for trying to force a run when there was insufficient room to do so. RAJSAMAN (FR) (K Fallon) and TAZEEZ (USA) bumped leaving the 100m. RAJSAMAN (FR) and DERBAAS (USA) (R Hills) raced wide throughout.

IRISIH FLAME (SAF) (K Shea) bumped between CHAMP PEGASUS (USA) (J Rosario) and REDWOOD (GB) (M Hills) at the start. CHINCHON (IRE) (G Mosse) and CALVADOS BLUES (FR) (A Ajtebi) bumped on jumping, and CHINCHON (IRE) was then eased shortly after the start to the inside of CALVADOS BLUES (FR). Leaving the 1900m, BOURBON BAY (USA) (R Bejarano), when racing in restricted room to the inside of RULERSHIP (JPN) (C Soumillon), which was racing keenly, was eased and shifted outwards slightly, which caused CALVADOS BLUES (FR) to clip the heels of BOURBON BAY (USA) and blunder. On enquiry, given the manner in which RULERSHIP (JPN) was racing at this stage, and the marginal shift by BOURBON BAY (USA), no action was taken against any rider. Approaching the 1800m, RULERSHIP (JPN) was eased. CALVADOS BLUES (FR) was held up for clear running rounding the home bend until leaving the 250m, at which time CALVADOS BLUES (FR) shifted to the inside of the heels of LAAHEB (GB) (R Hills) where there was insufficient room, and in doing so this crowded DEEM (IRE) (O Peslier) inwards, causing DEEM (IRE) to be restrained and lose its racing position. CHINCHON (IRE) which was racing to the inside of DEEM (IRE) was inconvenienced in this incident. On enquiry, Jockey A Ajtebi (CALVADOS BLUES [FR]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 4 days (exact dates to be confirmed with the BHA). A short distance later, CALVADOS BLUES (FR), when racing in restricted room to the inside of LAAHEB (GB), was obliged to be eased and alter course when LAAHEB (GB) drifted inwards slightly. AL SHEMALI (GB) (R Ffrench) raced wide throughout.

PRINCE BISHOP (IRE) (A Ajtebi) jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 1600m, when the pace slackened, GOLDEN SWORD (GB) (K Shea) was eased. Leaving the 1600m, GIO PONTI (USA) (R Dominguez) shifted inwards, which carried PRINCE BISHOP (IRE) in onto FLY DOWN (USA) (J Leparoux), which resulted in FLY DOWN (USA) having to be restrained and lose its racing position. On enquiry, Jockey R Dominguez (GIO PONTI [USA]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 2 days (exact dates to be confirmed with the New York Racing Association). Leaving the 800m, FLY DOWN (USA), which was commencing to tire, was crowded for room and had to be eased to the inside of RICHARD’S KID (USA) (R Mullen), which was carried inwards by MUSIR (AUS) (C Soumillon), which was racing to the inside of POET'S VOICE (GB) (L Dettori). On enquiry, after taking initial evidence, the enquiry was adjourned until such time that evidence can be taken from Jockey L Dettori. A post-race veterinary examination of POET’S VOICE (GB) revealed no abnormalities.
