SAILORMAN (IRE) (M Barzalona) bounded high and broke through the starting gates. SAILORMAN (IRE) was subsequently examined by the ERA Veterinary Officer and was declared a late scratching at 4:55pm. Trainer Mr I Mohammed was advised that SAILORMAN (IRE) would be required to complete 2 satisfactory racecourse stalls tests prior to being entered to race again. LANDOWNER (GB) (C O’Donoghue), COLEPEPER (GB) (M Demuro), TALLY HO (FR) (M Guyon) and TAXONOMIST (USA) (K Ikezoe) were slow to begin. Approaching 300m, EKTIBAAS (GB) (A Starke) was disappointed for a run to the inside of STAR SURPRISE (GB) (L Dettori) when STAR SURPRISE (GB) drifted inwards slightly. EKTIBAAS (GB) was then unable to obtain clear running until inside the final 100m. FINAL RECOVERY (GB) (R Moore) and TALLY HO (FR) bumped leaving the 150m. Jockey M Demuro advised that on jumping from the starting gates, COLEPEPER (GB) did not feel right in its action and was unable to stretch out, and the horse tailed off and did not compete in the race. A post-race veterinary examination of COLEPEPER (GB) revealed no abnormalities.
