COOL WIND (IRE) (W Smith), FA’IZ (IRE) (T Durcan) and PRESS OFFICE (USA) (A Nicholls) began awkwardly. Leaving the 1200m, CODY MAVERICK (IRE) (A Ajtebi) shifted inwards causing NABAH (GB) (R Ffrench) to be severely restrained and lose its racing position. COOL WIND (IRE), which was following NABAH (GB), was also severely restrained as a consequence. ENERGIA EROI (FR) (S De Sousa), which was racing in advance and to the outside of COOL WIND (IRE), was also interfered with in this incident. On enquiry, Jockey A Ajtebi (CODY MAVERICK [IRE]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 4 days (Abu Dhabi 26th February, Meydan 1st and 3rd March and Jebel Ali 9th March 2012).
