GLENLEVEN (USA) (R Mullen) and CODY MAVERICK (IRE) (S Al Mazrooei) were slow to begin. Leaving the 1200m, TAWAKUL (IRE) (A Ajtebi) was momentarily eased between MAHROSA (USA) (S Teasdale), which shifted inwards slightly, and GLENLEVEN (USA), which after being slowly away, was urged forward to take up a position. A short distance later, NABAH (GB) (S De Sousa) was restrained and made contact with the hind quarters of BARANSKY (GB) (H Bentley), when racing to the inside of GLENLEVEN (USA), which was racing to the inside of DARBANDIKHAN (USA) (D Williams). On enquiry, whilst it was accepted that DARBANDIKHAN (USA) had shifted inwards at this point of the race, the Stewards were of the view that GLENLEVEN (USA) had contributed to this incident, as after it was slow to begin, it was urged forward and at the time when DARBANDIKHAN (USA) shifted inwards, GLENLEVEN (USA) was racing strongly and shifted inwards away from DARBANDIKHAN (USA). As such, no action was taken against any rider. Approaching the 200m, NABAH (GB) was eased momentarily when the tiring FA’IZ (IRE) (T O’Shea) drifted outwards. In the early parts of the straight, AL NAOUWEE (USA) (P Cosgrave) drifted outwards inconveniencing DARBANDIKHAN (USA). Over the last 100m, DARBANDIKHAN (USA) lay inwards hampering AL NAOUWEE (USA) and approaching the finishing line, DARBANDIKHAN (USA) lay inwards further and bumped AL NAOUWEE (USA). After being examined post-race by the ERA Veterinary Officer, GRAND DUCHY (GB) (J Doyle) was treated for the thumps.
