DHAREEF (AE) (P Cosgrave) was fractious in the parade ring. Trainer Dr J Bittar was advised that DHAREEF (AE) would be required to paddock school to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being entered to race again. AF SHBAS (AE) (D O’Donohoe) was slow to begin. MARTAH AL REEF (AE) (S Al Mazrooei) was crowded shortly after jumping between JAP MAHR (AE) (C Sanchez) and AMJAD AL REEF (AE) (T O’Shea). JAP MIZOON (AE) (C Sandoval) was slow to begin. After passing the 300m, EISAR AL AIN (AE) (H Bentley) drifted inwards away from JAP MAHR (AE), which was drifting inwards, and this caused MARTAH AL REEF (AE) to be inconvenienced and carried inwards, which inconvenienced JAP JOCKER (AE) (C Peddie). Jockey C Sandoval (JAP MIZOON [AE]) was fined AED 500 under ERA Rule 57(v) in that he weighed out at 55kg plus 1kg when his published Minimum Riding Weight is 53kg.

A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) (R Mullen) and PRIME D’OR (FR) (S Trabelsi) bumped shortly after jumping. WAKEED W’RSAN (AE) (S Al Mazrooei) jumped very awkwardly and shortly after the start drifted outwards crowding RANEET (FR) (D O’Donohoe) momentarily out onto KUNG FU (AE) (J Doyle). OUASIMA (AE) (J Rosales) raced untruly and threw its head in the air approaching the finish line. Jockey R Mullen reported that A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) hung inwards throughout.

Leaving the 400m, MALTESE CAT (IRE) (A de Vries) commenced to lay inwards, which inconvenienced SHAFGAAN (GB) (S Al Mazrooei), and then approaching the 200m, MALTESE CAT (IRE), which had continued to lay inwards, momentarily hampered I GOT YOU BABE (IRE) (P Dobbs). Jockey J Doyle reported that MOMARIS (GB) had a tendency to hang outwards throughout. Notwithstanding, Jockey J Doyle (MOMARIS [GB]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(i) in that he used his whip in the forehand position forward of the saddle.

Approaching the 1500m, SAHM W’RSAN (AE) (D Smith) shifted inwards momentarily crowding JAP RASHAD (AE) (A de Vries) in onto LWIZA (AE) (P Cosgrave). HARRAS (AE) (S Al Reffai) commenced to give ground leaving the 1000m, which impeded ABU DHABI HELWA (AE) (R Ffrench) until the 800m. After rounding the home bend approaching the 250m, SAHM W’RSAN (AE) (D Smith) angled to the inside of JAP AL SAKAB (AE) (C Peddie), which drifted inwards slightly, and in doing so, SAHM W’RSAN (AE) shifted across ABJAER AL SRAYA (AE), causing ABJAER AL SRAYA (AE) to be restrained from its position. On enquiry, Jockey D Smith (SAHM W’RSAN [AE]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 2 days (Jebel Ali 30th November and Meydan 6th December, 2012). ABJAER AL SRAYA (AE) was then impeded for clear running to the outside of the tiring JAP AL SAKAB (AE) over the concluding stages.
