After arriving at the starting gates, SHAJARET EDDOR AL REEF (AE) (J Rosales) was found to have blood in its mouth and was subsequently examined by the Veterinary Officer and was passed fit to start. MH LAZZAZ (AE) (C Sanchez) began awkwardly. SHAHRYAR (AE) (M Monaghan) was slow to begin. SHAJARET EDDOR AL REEF (AE) bumped with A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) (T Durcan) on jumping and shortly after jumping, SAWBAH (AE) (H Bentley) was crowded between A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) and JAP MERSAL (AE) (D Smith). BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE) (P Cosgrave) and SHAHEEN GHANTOOT (AE) (A De Vries) bumped on jumping. BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE) drifted outwards over the concluding stages and bumped WAJFAH W’RSAN (AE) (A Ajtebi).

FINEST RESERVE (IRE) (T O’Shea) was re-saddled after arriving at the starting gates. FINEST RESERVE (IRE) and GLEN NEVIS (USA) (R Ffrench) were slow to begin. STORM ULTRALIGHT (ARG) (M Monaghan) raced keenly in the early stages and between 1600m and 1400m, raced in an awkward position to the inside of MULAQAT (GB) (K Fallon), which was racing tight on the inside of the heels of HAATHEQ (USA) (P Hanagan) as it drifted inwards slowly. On enquiry, whilst it was established that the racing manners of STORM ULTRALIGHT (ARG) had been a major contributing factor to this incident, Jockey P Hanagan (HAATHEQ [USA]) was advised to ensure that he is fully clear of runners when shifting ground.
