MAHA W’RSAN (AE) (C Sanchez) hung outwards making the home bend. Jockey R Mullen reported that FAROOQ (AE) hung outwards throughout. CERCINA (AE) (J Rosales) was impeded for clear running and was eased approaching the finishing line between ATAB (AE) (X Ziani), which veered inwards, and ERRADA (AE) (T O’Shea), which drifted outwards. A post-race veterinary examination of AL HARQA W’RSAN (AE) (J Santiago), which compounded badly from leaving the 800m, revealed no abnormalities. Apprentice M Monaghan (DHABABAH [AE]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond.

MH DHAWI (AE) (H Bentley) was fractious in the starting gates and then reared as the gates opened. Trainer Ms S Al Ghurair was advised that MH DHAWI (AE) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to it being permitted to be entered to race again. SICERTARYA (AE) (P Cosgrave) began awkwardly and then refused to race and took no part in the race. Trainer Mr A Manuel was advised that SICERTARYA (AE) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test and to complete a racecourse gallop to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to it being permitted to be entered to race again. NAWASI ALKEER (AE) (J Rosales) was slow to begin. UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (FR) (R Ffrench) was slow to begin and then raced very keenly in the early stages. Near the 2100m, MH LAZZAZ (AE) (C Sandoval) ran outwards, and as a result, MUDAF’E (AE) (T O’Shea) veered outwards abruptly, impeding AF QAMOOS (AE) (G Avranche). Jockey T O’Shea reported that in this incident, the bit slipped through the mouth of MUDAF’E (AE) and he then had difficulty trying to control the horse, and the horse was pulled up in the home straight. Jockey J Doyle reported that JOYOUS DREAM (FR) hung outwards throughout. Jockey G Avranche (AF QAMOOS [AE]) was fined AED 2500 for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) and (viii) in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond, and with his whip arm above shoulder height.
