PRICE IS TRUTH (USA) was a late scratching at 3.00pm after it was found to be lame in the right fore. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required for PRICE IS TRUTH (USA) prior to it being permitted to be entered to race again. After arriving at the starting gates, the Tongue Tie on ROYALISM (IRE) (C Sanchez) was replaced. GREAT NAMOOS (GB) (J Rosales) dwelt as the starting gates opened. LINE OF SIGHT (USA) (S Hitchcott) began awkwardly. Apprentice M Monaghan reported that he felt something amiss with the hind action of WHITE CITY (USA) in the early stages of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of WHITE CITY (USA) revealed no abnormalities. An enquiry was opened following a report from the Clerk of the Scales that Jockey J Doyle (RAMONTI FLASH [IRE]) had attempted to weigh out whilst wearing a non-approved safety vest. When questioned, Jockey J Doyle stated that it was his intent to weigh out with a lighter vest for the purposes of making his Correct Weight, and that he was then going to change to his normal approved safety vest for the race. The Stewards also noted the seriousness of this matter and were mindful of previous penalties for breaches of this Rule. In all of the circumstances, particularly the deliberate intent of Jockey J Doyle to attempt to deceive the Officials and the general racing public, he was found guilty under ERA Rule 58(iii) in that he attempted to weigh out whilst wearing a non-approved body protector and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for three days (30 March 2013 at Meydan and two further meetings to be determined after consultation with the British Horseracing Authority, in accordance with ERA Rule 99(i), given that there are no further race meetings currently scheduled in the UAE) and was fined AED 3,000. Furthermore, Jockey J Doyle was reprimanded for breaching ERA Rule 62(v) in that he had in his possession an additional modified safety vest.
