After the loading process was completed, it became evident that SPECIAL BOY (IRE) (W Smith) (Barrier 8) and RU’OUD (GB) (M Monaghan) (Barrier 9) had ultimately been placed in the wrong starting gates. As such, these two horses were removed from the starting gates and re-loaded into their correct starting gates. On enquiry, after taking evidence from the ERA Starter, Mr S Ryan, Jockey W Smith (SPECIAL BOY [IRE]) and Apprentice M Monaghan (RU’OUD [GB]), it was established that this mistake occurred due to human error on the part of the starting gate staff. The Stewards advised Mr Ryan that he must ensure that adequate checking processes and systems are in place to ensure that this does not occur again in the future. The Stewards also advised both riders that there is some onus on them also to ensure that they are loaded into their correct starting gates. SPECIAL BOY (IRE) (W Smith) was hard to load. NATIONAL FLAG (IRE) (H Bentley) began awkwardly and was then uncompetitive. SPECIAL BOY (IRE) jumped inwards at the start hampering MINDORO (GB) (P Cosgrave). DAHES (IRE) (J Rosales) returned with lacerations to both hocks.

Trainer Mr A Al Raihe was advised that ANA EMIRATI (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being permitted to be entered again. RAWALBANDIE (USA) (F Cakar) jumped awkwardly and outwards inconveniencing AL RAZI (USA) (R Mullen) and GAME STALKER (USA) (A Ajtebi). BLUE TIGER’S EYE (IRE) (A de Vries) and MABROOR (USA) (D O’Neill) were both bumped heavily between FELIX (PER) (D O’Donohoe), which jumped outwards, and DHERGHAAM (IRE) (O Ahmad), which jumped inwards.
