FINAL RECOVERY (GB) which was fractious in the barriers was marginally slow to begin. AMONG EQUALS (GB), JANNA’S JINGLE (IRE) and SOWAYLM (GB) were all slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of GLENLEVEN (USA) revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Instruction 30(i),(iii)&(iv), Mr S Seemar, the trainer of GLENLEVEN (USA), was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or Veterinary Officer.

Shortly after the start, KETTLE RIVER (USA) had to be steadied off the heels of OASIS DANCER (GB) which shifted out. GOLD PEARL (USA) was inclined to lay in throughout. Passing the 100 meters, OASIS DANCER (GB) and KESSRAA (IRE) bumped due to both horses shifting ground. A post-race veterinary examination of KETTLE RIVER (USA), which finished last, revealed no abnormalities.
