MOUTEAB (IRE) commenced awkwardly. Approaching the 1200 metres MOUTEAB (IRE) commenced to race ungenerously then veered outwards sharply to the outside of the track unbalancing the rider. Trainer Mr A Al Raihe (MOUTEAB (IRE)) was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one track gallop. Apprentice M Monaghan (COMMANDER CAVE (USA)) reported that the gelding did not stretch out at any stage of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of COMMANDER CAVE (USA) revealed no abnormalities

UKRAINIAN (IRE) was slow into stride. Shortly after the start LORD PROVOST (IRE) steadied and shifted in to take a racing position on the fence. In the middle stages JARDIM (BRZ) over-raced. Over the concluding 200 metres, JALAA (IRE) shifted ground outwards with EL MANSOUR (USA) being momentarily inconvenienced. Jockey J Doyle (TESSLAM (GB)) reported that the gelding travelled well throughout, however when placed under pressure in the straight failed to respond. A post-race veterinary examination of TESSLAM (GB) failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MUJAAZEF (GB) and ODOOJ (IRE) both commenced awkwardly. Passing the 100 metres TAKE TEN (GB) shifted away from the heels of MUJAAZEF (GB), momentarily inconveniencing BRAZEN (GB) on its outside. During the running of the race GLENLEVEN (USA) suffered a bleeding attack from both nostrils. GLENLEVEN (USA) was pulled up and failed to finish. Acting under the provisions of ERA Instruction 30(i),(iii)&(iv), Trainer Mr S Seemar (GLENLEVEN (USA)) was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 90 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. When questioned jockey P Hanagan (EBN ARAB (USA)) explained the gelding at no time felt comfortable throughout and raced in a flat manner. A post-race veterinary examination of EBN ARAB (USA) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
