Mr S Seemar, the trainer of RETURNING HERO (GB), was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. OAKHAM (GB) was slow to begin. Mr A bin Huzaim, the trainer of OAKHAM (GB), was notified that a warning will be placed on the colt for its tardy start. GULF OF ALASKA (GB) and VERMEER (SAF) commenced awkwardly. TARBAWI (IRE) was held up leaving the 600 metres. Leaving the 300 metres DAAR RASHID (USA), when held up, steadied outwards to obtain clear running. Approaching the 150 metres ROMAGNE (GB) was momentarily held up on the inside of WHITE CITY (USA) which shifted in.

Mr O Mohammed, the trainer of FLOWERS IN THE SPRING (FR), was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule of Racing 68(i) for arriving on course 20 minutes late. On the way to the barrier, FLOWERS IN THE SRPING (FR) took charge of its rider S Al Mazrooei, galloping a short distance before being reined in. HARLANS CHARM (USA) was slow to begin. Mr M Al Shamsi, the trainer of HARLANS CHARM (USA), was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. BUSKER (USA) reared on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination of HARLANS CHARM (USA), which finished a distance last, revealed the gelding to be lame in the left-hind leg. Mr M Al Shamsi was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for HARLANS CHARM (USA).

When leaving the parade ring BROUGHTONS DAY (GB) became intractable bumping heavily with the rail. Following a veterinary inspection BROUGHTONS DAY (GB) was passed suitable to race took its place in the field. PRINCE SHAUN (IRE) commenced awkwardly getting its head up. TAMARRUD (GB) was slow to stride. Passing the 1400 metres MUHTARAM (GB) had to steady when being crossed by MUTAYASER (GB). SKYCRUISER (IRE) raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Jockey X Ziani (BROUGHTONS DAY [GB]) dropped his whip near the 200 metres. SKYCRUISER (IRE), when under pressure, shifted in at the 200 meters.

Approaching the 1000 metres SAND STAMP (FR) shifted ground inwards gradually causing FOREVERTHEOPTIMIST (IRE) to race tight and having to be steadied. SPIN CYCLE (IRE) which was racing on the inside of FOREVERTHEOPTIMIST (IRE) was also inconvenienced, shifting in and bumping with INNOCUOUS (GB). A de Vries , the Jockey of SAND STAMP (FR), was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule of Racing 69(ii) and was advised that when crossing he must ensure that he is clear of other runners. Approaching 200 metres INNOCUOUS (GB) was held up for a clear run and shifted to the inside to obtain clear running.
