Mr M Al Muhairi, the trainer of ANWAR DUBAI (GB), was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 28(iii) for the use of the club colours. ANWAR DUBAI (GB) stood in the barrier as the start was effected losing considerable ground. Mr M Al Muhairi, the trainer of ANWAR DUBAI (GB), was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. LETTERFROMAMERICA (USA) commenced awkwardly. WISH ME LUCK (FR) was slow into stride. Shortly after the start MAGROOMA (AUS) commenced to race ungenerously getting its head up and as a result over-raced. Passing the 400 metres MAGROORA (AUS) when held up, angled outwards making contact with AUTUMN LILY (USA) with both fillies becoming unbalanced. T Thulliez, the rider of MAGROORA (AUS), was advised that in future he is to ensure there is sufficient room when angling for a run. Over the concluding stages OXSANA (GB) was held up for a clear run. A post-race veterinary examination of MAGROOMA (AUS) revealed the filly to have returned with blood in its mouth.

On arriving at the barrier the saddle of MAKE IT REEL (FR) had to be adjusted. DOLCE N KARAMA (IRE) commenced awkwardly. On jumping MY CATCH (IRE) shifted out and bumped DUBAWI FUN (GB). The saddle on VIGOR (IRE) slipped backwards during running, placing its rider at a disadvantage. Passing the 600 metres CHORD CHART (IRE) steadied from the heels of JOURNEYMAN (SAF). Approaching the 1000 metres MAKE IT REEL (FR) steadied. Leaving the 1000 metres MY CATCH (IRE) shifted in tightening DUBAWI FUN (GB) in onto EMIRATES FLYER (GB) which checked and then shifted inwards causing SAFETY CHECK (IRE) to check and lose ground. P Dobbs, the rider of MY CATCH (IRE), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that he permitted MY CATCH (IRE) to shift in when not clear or DUBAWI FUN (GB) and consequently causing interference to EMIRATES FLYER (GB) and SAFETY CHECK (IRE). P Dobbs had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race-meetings (ABU DHABI 26th January 2014 and MEYDAN 30th January 2014). On straightening till approaching the 100 meters SAFETY CHECK (IRE) had difficulty in obtaining a clear passage.

SAHAWAR (FR) raced keenly in the early stages. SHEIKHZAYEDROAD (GB) was held up from on straightening until the 250 metres. Passing the 50 metres DABADIYAN (IRE) when making ground steadied outwards from the heels of THA’IR (IRE). A post-race veterinary examination of CODE OF HONOR (GB) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on ENERGIZER (GER), Jockey M Barzalona explained that after being unable to get a cover early ENERGIZER (GER) had commenced to race very keenly and under these circumstances he elected to let the horse stride and not restrain ENERGIZER (GER) as in his opinion the horse would have resented it and over raced further. Trainer Mr C Appleby when questioned explained that ENERGIZER (GER) was a difficult horse to train and pulled regularly in its track work. It was now his intention to drop ENERGIZER (GER) back to 1600 metres at its next race appearance and vary the horses training in an endeavor to settle ENERGIZER (GER) in races.
