MEDICEAN MAN (GB) and DUNGANNON (GB) commenced awkwardly. RACY (GB) was slow to begin and raced greenly in the early stages. Approaching the 700 MEDICEAN MAN (GB) was impeded and restrained. On inquiry, it was established that MY PROPELLER (IRE), when racing tight to the outside of ROICEAD (USA) had shifted out away from that gelding causing MEDICEAN MAN (GB) to restrain. AHTOUG (GB) which was racing to the outside of MEDICEAN MAN (GB) was also inconvenienced. From the 500 metres to passing the 300 metres MEDICEAN MAN (GB) had difficulty in obtaining a clear passage. Approaching the 200 metres RACY (GB) became unbalanced when bumping with MONSIEUR JOE (IRE). Approaching the winning post TAKE TEN (GB) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of ABSTRACTION (IRE) which shifted out abruptly.

START RIGHT (GB) and AGENT ALLISON (GB) proved difficult to load. Trainers Mr S Seemar (START RIGHT (GB)) and Mr P Chapple-Hyam (AGENT ALLISON (GB)) were both notified that prior to their respective horses being entered to race again they must complete one satisfactory stalls test. START RIGHT (GB) and AGENT ALLISON (GB) were both slow to begin. ROBERT THE PAINTER (IRE) raced wide without cover in the early stages. ABDEL (FR) raced wide without cover throughout. INTRIGO (GB) made the turn at the 1400 metres awkwardly and over-raced getting its head up. SAHAWAR (FR) raced keenly in the middle stages.

After all horses had been placed in their respective barriers the starter released the field with barriers 1, 2, 4, 9, 10 and 11 opening prematurely. The starter immediately declared a false start and all runners were quickly restrained and returned to the barrier. MUSHREQ (AUS) underwent a veterinary examination and was declared fit to take its place in the field. Due to the false start, the start of this race was delayed 5 minutes. TRADE STORM (GB) and TALES OF GRIMM (USA) were slow to begin. DASTARHON (IRE) commenced awkwardly. Passing the 1400 metres VAN ROONEY (USA) had to be steadied when racing tight between MAPUTO (GB) and ZAMBUCCA (SAF). EDUCATE (GB) and TASADAY (USA) over-raced in the middle stages. BRENDAN BRACKAN (IRE) raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey D O’Neill (MUSHREQ (AUS)) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i). The particulars of the charge being that near the 200 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of TASADAY (USA), resulting in that filly being checked and taken outwards bumping ZAMBUCCA (SAF), which also had to be checked. Jockey D O’Neill had his license to ride in races suspended for 3 race-meetings (MEYDAN 13.02.2014, AL AIN 14.02.2014, MEYDAN 15.02.2014). Jockey A De Vries (VAN ROONEY (USA)) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding. The particulars of the charge being that near the 150 metres, after being held up, he permitted his mount to shift inwards when not clear of TRADE STORM (GB), resulting in that horse having to be restrained. Jockey A De Vries had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race-meetings (MEYDAN 13.02.2014 & AL AIN 14.02.2014). Jockey M Barzalona (MAPUTO (GB)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Instruction 8(ii) (c) (viii) for extending his whip arm above shoulder height.
