SERJAAN (GB) was slow to begin. FA’IZ (IRE) shifted out on jumping and made contact with COURT POLITICS (GB). EARTH TOUR (GB), SERJAAN (GB) and MURASIL (USA) all raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Apprentice S Al Mazrooei (LAKE HAWK (IRE)), which gave ground from the 1000 metres, explained that the horse travelled well in the early stages, however, when urged along near the 1000 metres failed respond to his riding and lost ground quickly. A post-race veterinary examination of LAKE HAWK (IRE) revealed the horse to have nasal discharge. LAKE HAWK (IRE) was subsequently scoped and found to have a respiratory infection. Trainer Mr A Al Raihe (LAKE HAWK (IRE)) was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for LAKE HAWK (IRE).

Apprentice A Al Subosi, was replaced as the rider of WINTERGREEN (IRE) when he was unable to claim a weight allowance. Subsequently, Apprentice A Al Subosi was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 9(xvi)(b) for negligence in not claiming a weight allowance. UKRAINIAN (IRE), GLITTERING GOLD (GB) and TONABROCKY (IRE) were all slow to begin. HOLD THE LINE (IRE) over-raced in the early stages. MANTOBA (GB) raced wide in the early stages. Jockey R Mullen had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race-meetings (MEYDAN 27th February 2014 & AL AIN 28th February 2014). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Jockey R Mullen’s guilty plea and his upcoming riding engagements.
