Stewards' Reports for Qasr Al Bahar
Whilst at the barrier stalls the saddle of MH SAMURAI (AE) had to be adjusted. Also at the barrier stalls it was noticed that the bridal on HILALAT AL BEDA’A (AE) was very loose and could not be adjusted satisfactorily. Consequently to avoid any delay the Stewards order the withdrawal of HILALAT AL BEDA’A (AE) at 5.01pm under the provision of ERA Rule 9(ix). Mr M Al Shamsi, the trainer of HILALAT AL BEDA’S (AE), was notified that he must ensure that all runners in future are correctly bridled. MH SAMURAI (AE) dwelt at the start losing considerable ground. MODHESH (AE) commenced extremely awkwardly with Jockey J Santiago losing the use of his off-side iron, regaining it 400 metres later. On jumping, FATAT AL ARAB (AE) reared, shifted outwards bumping QAITAR AL REEF (AE). Shortly after the start QAYED (AE) bucked losing considerable ground. Mr H Al Alawi, the trainer of QAYED (AE), was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it must complete a satisfactory gallop and stalls test. A post-race veterinary report of MH SAMURAI (AE) revealed the colt to be lame in the left-foreleg. Ms E Jeanne, the trainer of MH SAMURAI (AE), was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again she must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for MH SAMURAI (AE).

Shortly after the start MANISHA (AE) was tightened for room when MUDALAL (OM) shifted out, at the same time RAHEQ (FR) moved inwards. Near the 1900 metres RAHEQ (FR) shifted inwards resulting in MUDALAL (OM) being checked and clipping the heels of that gelding dislodging Apprentice S Al Mazrooei. On enquiry Apprentice E Canal, the jockey of RAHEQ (FR), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 1900 metres he allowed RAHEQ (FR) to shift inwards and interfere with MUDALAL (OM). Apprentice E Canal had his license to ride in races suspended for four (4) race-meetings (MEYDAN 21.11.2013, SHARJAH 23.11.2013, ABU DHABI 24.11.2013 and JEBEL ALI 29.11.2013). In issuing the penalty, Stewards took into account Apprentice E Canal’s guilty plea, his relative inexperience and that his carelessness resulted in a race fall. Apprentice S Al Mazrooei was examined by the Club’s Doctor and notified to get a further examination in the coming days as he is expected to suffer from general soreness.
