NAJM (FR) commenced awkwardly. On jumping QAISAR (AE) reared, shifted inwards bumping heavily with SAND FLEA (US) which in turn shifted in onto HK AHLAWIYA (AE) and AK ADOUR (FR). Throughout the race SAND FLEA (US) raced wide without cover. Leaving the 500 metres AL HAYEM (AE) steadied when close to the heels of UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (FR). Near the 200 metres AL HAYEM (AE) momentarily steadied and shifted outwards when UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (FR) shifted in. R Ffrench, the jockey of UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (FR), was advised to take more care when crossing. Over the concluding stages UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (FR) hung inwards.

AQMAAR (GB) and HAB NESSNAS (AE) were slow to begin. On jumping WYCKED (US) shifted inwards abruptly. Near 500 metres DUZAR (FR) which did not handle the turn into the straight, steadied away from AMEER AL REEF (AE). Approaching the 400 metres AMEER AL REEF (AE) was held up for a clear run. During the race TOWAISANN AL REEF (AE) lost its right-fore shoe. BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE) raced wide in the early and middle stages and passing the 1000 metres commenced to hang out and made the turn into the straight extremely wide. BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE) was eventually retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination of BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE), revealed the mare to be lame in the right-hind leg. Dr J Bittar, the trainer of BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE), was notified that prior to the mare entering to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for BOUTHAYNA AL REEF (AE), at which time the mare must complete a gallop to the stewards satisfaction.

SHAYEL ALDHABI (AE) was slow to begin. AF LAFEH (AE) raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. QUITE A SHOW (US) hung out throughout. Approaching the 1200 metres, when the pace slowed, BIGG N RICH (US) commenced to race ungenerously getting its head up. Shortly after, when being held tight by QUITE A SHOW (US) on its outside, BIGG N RICH (US) veered outwards sharply inconveniencing GHALIB (FR). Passing the 200 metres MUNZADE (FR) when struck with a whip, shifted outwards, obliging SHAYEL ALDHABI (AE) to steady and change course inwards. A Nicholls, the jockey of MUNZADE (FR), was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vi) for using the whip with excessive frequency.

At the barrier stalls DAL’OUNA (AE) and SHUA’A AL GHARBIA (FR) had their saddles adjusted. MONAYAT AL BEDA’A (AE) was withdrawn at 6.58pm when he was found to be lame in the right-foreleg. Mr K Al Neyadi, the trainer of MONAYAT AL BEDA’A (AE), was notified that prior to entering the filly to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for MONAYAT AL BEDA’A (AE). EL NAFOUTH (AE) dwelled at the start losing considerable ground. Mr K Al Neyadi, the trainer of EL NAFOUTH (AE), was notified that prior to the filly entering to race again it must complete one satisfactory stall test. AZ ALDAHMA (AE) lay outwards over the concluding stages. W Smith, the jockey of SNS NUJOOD (AE), reported that the filly hung out throughout the race. During the event, it was detected that a section of the running rail, near the 200 metres, had become detached. Following the race this section of the running rail was repaired.
