Whilst in the parade ring ISTARA (FR) reared backwards throwing itself down. Acting on a veterinary report from the ERA veterinary officer, the Stewards ordered ISTARA (FR) to be withdrawn at 4.56pm. Mr I Al Hadhrami, the trainer of ISTARA (FR), was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again it must complete one paddock school test. JAP KAMEL (AE) was required to be re-plated on the left fore on arriving at the barrier. Subsequently the start of the race was delayed several minutes. MULAQUEN (FR) was slow to stride. JAP AL REEM (AE) reared at the start. On jumping YAQOOT W’RSAN (AE) veered inwards and refused to stretch out losing considerable ground. Mr B Al Ketbi, the trainer of YAQOOT W’RSAN (AE), was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test and track gallop. Shortly after the start AF NAB (AE) shifted ground outwards. MULAQUEN (FR) raced greenly in the early and middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of IBN AL ZA’EEM revealed no significant abnormalities. Mr H S Al Hammadi, the trainer of IBN AL ZA’EEM, was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory track gallop. Shortly after the start the saddle on MOLAHEM AHLEM (AE) slipped forward placing its rider at some disadvantage. In the early and middle stages BIN ARAR (AE) raced greenly.

After being placed in its barrier UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (AE) became fractious with Jockey R Ffrench being dislodged. DESERT ROSE (US) was slow to stride. A’NNABAK W’RSAN (AE) commenced extremely awkwardly. Shortly after the start UNIQUE DE LA GARDE (FR) restrained when MH AREEB (AE) shifted inwards as BADER (QA) moved outwards. SHAHRYAR (AE) was held up for clear running from passing the 800 meters until on straightening. In the straight DESERT ROSE (US) shifted ground inwards considerably. S Al Mazrooei, the jockey of DESERT ROSE (US), was shown a video of the incident and advised that he must make a greater effort to keep his mount straight. Jockey R Mullen reported that AMEER AL SRAYA (AE) did not handle todays track condition.

HK AHLAWIYA (AE) and TRESOR DE FAUST (FR) raced ungenerously in the early and middle. AF MUWALL’AA (AE) raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. KALID’OR (FR) raced wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of TRESOR DE FAUST (FR) revealed the horse to have lacerations to its right-hind fetlock and heel.
