A pre-race veterinary examination of MH DHAWI (AE), which had been fractious when being transported to the track, revealed the horse to have lacerations to both back hocks, however MH DHAWI (AE) was declared suitable to race. FOLADH (AE) which was fractious in the mounting yard was unable to be loaded into the barriers. Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of FOLADH (AE) at 5.00pm. The stable representative of Dr J Bittar, the trainer of FOLADH (AE), was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again it must complete two satisfactory stalls test. JAP DOONICK (AE) was slow to begin. On jumping MH DHAWI (AE) shifted in and bumped AFLATOON (AE). Shortly after the start NAJM (FR) and HAB NESSNAS (AE) bumped. At the start MUNZADE (FR) and NEBRASSA AL ASAYL (US) made contact. In the early stages DIG DAGON (AE) over-raced. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, MUNZADE (FR), which was over-racing, shifted out and bumped RAAD W’RSAN (AE). NAJM (FR) raced wide in the middle stages. HAB NESSNAS (AE) was held up for a clear run in the early part of the straight. Approaching the 200 metres AF MUTAJANNI (AE), when racing greenly, shifted in and had to be steadied off the heels of NAWFAL AL REEF (AE). A post-race vet exam of CALLATERAL (US) revealed the horse to have a laceration to its left fore heel.

AL HAMRA (AE) was extremely unruly in the paddock. The stable representative of Dr J Bittar, the trainer of AL HAMRA (AE), was notified that prior to the mare being entered to race again she must successfully paddock school to the Steward’s satisfaction. DESERT ROSE (US) and JAZEERAH AL REEF (AE) were both slow to begin. On jumping VALERIA DE LAGARDE (FR) shifted out and bumped RICHLY BLESSED (US). Racing out of the straight the first time DAANAH (FR) raced wide. Near the 200 metres AL HAMRA (AE) steadied and shifted to the inside of SHAJARET EDDOR AL REEF (AE) which lay outwards. When questioned, apprentice S Al Mazrooei (DAANAH [FR]), explained that he had been instructed to let DAANAH (FR) stride and after racing wide early, the horse had then commenced to over race.

Approaching the 400 metres MH AREEB (AE) was held up. Passing the 400 metres MILLION (AE) had difficulty in obtaining a clear run. A post-race veterinary examination of ALFIRSAAN (FR) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MUJRAYAAT (IRE) and MAQARAAT (IRE) were both slow to begin. MALEKOV (IRE) which was fractious in the barrier and was slow to begin. UDABAA (IRE) raced wide without cover throughout. MOONLIGHT DASH (GB) was held up for a clear run rounding the home turn. On straightening JANOOD (IRE) when tiring, mistrode becoming unbalanced. Passing the 200 metres MALEKOV (IRE) had to be checked off the heels of MUJRAYAAT (IRE), which shifted in. P Dobbs, the rider of MUJRAYAAT (IRE), was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of MALEKOV (IRE), resulting in MALEKOV (IRE) having to be checked. P Dobbs had his license to ride in races suspended for 3 race-meetings (AL AIN 31st January 2014, MEYDAN 1st February 2014 and ABU DHABI 2nd February).
