Approaching the 1200 metres NASEEM AL REEF (AE), which was racing keenly steadied, shifted inwards abruptly. ALFIRSAAN (FR) hung out throughout. At the barrier stalls the saddle of DAIRAM (USA) required adjustment. YAA WAYL (IRE) commenced awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination of MAATH GOOL (GB) revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils and to have a cardiac arrhythmia. Acting under the provisions of ERA Instruction 30(i),(iii)&(iv), Mr D Watson, the trainer of MAATH GOOL (GB), was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days. Further to this, as MAATH GOOL (GB) also experienced a cardiac arrhythmia, MAATH GOOL (GB), will be required to complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Veterinary Officer and a veterinary report will be required stating that the MAATH GOOL (GB) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. This official gallop may only be performed six (6) weeks after the event.
