At the barrier stalls the saddle of RB SMOKING RICH (US) had to be adjusted. HF HARBI (AE) and SAHM AL LAIL (AE) were both slow into stride. SULWAN W’RSAN (AE) commenced awkwardly and then raced greenly. On jumping JAP NSNAS (AE) veered outwards onto AS TAIF (AE). Passing the 400 metres, SAND FLEA (US) lay out as BARQ AL REEF (AE) shifted inwards with SILK STOCKINGS (US) being inconvenienced. Near the 100 metres, SULWAN W’RSAN (AE) veered outwards sharply, cannoning into AS TAIF (AE), unbalancing that mare. SULWAN W’RSAN (AE) was then eased out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of SAND FLEA (US) revealed the gelding to be lame in the left-foreleg. Trainer Mr. M Ramadan (SAND FLEA (US)) was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must pass a suitability test conducted by an ERA Veterinary officer.

HAB NESSNAS (AE) dwelt at the start losing considerable ground. WALD JOHNNY (AE) and MAJD ABU DHABI (AE) bumped on jumping. Passing the 1200 metres JAP JOKER (AE) shifted outwards quickly inconveniencing TOWAISANN AL REEF (AE). MH LAZZAZ (AE) hung out throughout and passing the 800 metres ran to the outside of the track. A post-race veterinary examination of MH LAZZAZ (AE) revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer Ms E Jeanne (MH LAZZAZ (AE)) was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one track gallop to the Stewards satisfaction. Leaving the 400 metres HAB NESSNAS (AE) was held up for a clear run.

Trainer Mr B Al Ketbi (WAKEED W’RSAN [AE]) was issued with a reprimand under the provision of ERA Rule 60(i) for failing to run the horse after it had gained a start in the field. Stewards took into account that Mr B Al Ketbi had galloped WAKEED W’RSAN (AE) in the morning as he was of the view that the horse was not going to gain a start. KUNG FU (AE) commenced awkwardly. On jumping BAREK W’RSAN (AE) shifted inwards bumping MILLION (AE). NA’EEM W’RSAN (AE) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 400 metres QAITAR AL REEF (AE) when angling out for a clear run carried AF AL HAZER (AE) out onto AMEER AL REEF (AE) and MOLAHEN ALHAM (AE). Leaving the 100 metres KAREEM W’RSAN (AE) shifted out abruptly, bumping and carrying AF AL HAZER (AE) onto KANA’AN (AE) and MOLAHEN ALHAM (AE). Approaching the 100 metres BAREK W’RSAN (AE) veered outwards dislodging Apprentice M Monaghan (BAREK W’RSAB (AE)). Passing the 100 metres SAIF W’RSAN (AE), NA’EEM W’RSAN (AE) and KUNG FU (AE) all veered outwards. In light of the behaviour of these horses, Stewards conducted an inspection of the track near the 200 metres and subsequently directed the removal of a number of flags on the inside of the main track near the 100 metres as they were of the opinion the flags had caused a number of horses to veer outwards.

Approaching the 400 metres NAJEM S’HEEL (AE) was held up. Passing the 400 metres DAY BREAKER (AE) was momentarily blocked for a clear run. Over the final 50 metres DAY BREAKER (AE) lay outwards carrying KAO KAT MHF (US) and BORKAN AL ZOBAIR (AE) wide. Jockey S De Sousa (SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE)) reported that the horse hung out throughout.
