As apprentice D Muscutt rode his 30th winner at Meydan on the 13th of March 2014, his allowance changed to 2.5 kg and not 3.0 kg as advertised in the race cards. TIKI TEJAS (US) jumped away awkwardly. On jumping QAISAR (AE) commenced awkwardly and then was tightened for room between BANGO (AE) and MAJD ABU DHABI (AE), which was taken in by HADREEJ (AE). As a result of this QAISAR (AE) was severely inconvenienced and lost ground. Approaching the 600 metres TIKI TEJAS (US) sustained a fracture to the right-fore fetlock and was pulled up. After veterinary assessment TIKI TEJAS (US) was euthanized.

Prior to correct weight jockey G Avranche (ALBAR LOTOIS (FR)), 4th placegetter, lodged an objection against NASEEM (FR), 3rd placegetter, alleging interference over the final 300 metres. After considering the evidence of all parties concerned and viewing the video footage of the incident it was the opinion of the Stewards that approaching the 200 metres ALBAR LOTOIS (FR) was momentarily tightened for room by NASEEM (FR), which shifted in. As the Stewards were of the view that the interference suffered to ALBAR LOTOIS (FR) did not warrant the placing’s to be changed, the objection was dismissed. MUSHARAB (FR) was slow to begin. SIMBAR DU LOUP (FR) jumped away awkwardly. Apprentice D Muscutt (NAJM EMARAT (FR)) was warned under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, in that passing the winning post on the first occasion near the 1800 metres, he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of RASIKH (FR), thereby tightening RASIKH (FR) in onto MERZAL (FR). For a short distance rounding the home turn ALBAR LOTOIS (FR) and MUSHARAB (FR) were both held up for a clear run. Over the concluding stages NASEEM (FR) attempted to savage MUSHARAB (FR). Trainer Mr M Al Jahouri (NASEEM (FR)) was notified that a warning would be placed on NASEEM (FR) regarding the horse’s behaviour.

WADI AL SAIL (US) and SOLO RESTORETO (AE) were both slow to begin. SAFIR BAINUNA (AE) raced wide without cover throughout. GIRL POWERR (US) raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Jockey C Sandoval (AF DHAHAM (AE)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of ERA Rule 69(i), for permitting his mount to shift out near the 200 metres when not clear of SOLO RESTORETO (AE), resulting in that runner having to be checked. Jockey C Sandoval had his license to ride in races suspended for one race-meeting (MEYDAN 29th March, 2014). In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account C Sandoval’s guilty plea, good careless riding record and that he would miss the World Cup meeting. Passing the 150 metres DAY BREAKER (AE) shifted out abruptly. Subsequent to the meeting Trainer Mr E Lemartinel and Jockey C Sandoval requested that the one race-meeting suspension be deferred, as C Sandoval has been engaged to ride MANAN (US) in the Kahayla Classic (Group 1) for Trainer Mr E Lemartinel. Pursuant to ERA Rule 99(ii), Stewards granted permission for the one race-meeting suspension to be deferred to the first meeting to be conducted in the UAE season 2014/2015.

Rounding the home turn near the 400 metres JUTLAND (GB) had to be checked off the heels of MUSHREQ (AUS), which was taken out by SEFRI (USA), which was hanging out.
