As apprentice D Muscutt rode his 30th winner at Meydan on the 13th of March 2014, his allowance changed to 2.5 kg and not 3.0 kg as advertised in the race cards. AF AAMAAQ (AE) was slow to begin. SAMEEM (AE) commenced awkwardly. In the early stages LATIFA PRINCESS (AE) over-raced. Jockey X Ziani (TAHDEED (AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for permitting his mount to shift in near the 1200 metres, thereby taking AF ASEFAH (AE), which was over-racing, in onto BARAK (AE), which had to be restrained. In this incident LATIFA PRINCESS (AE) which was following was inconvenienced. Apprentice N Garbutt (AF ASEFAH (AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for permitting his mount to shift in near the 1000 metres, resulting in AF AAMAAQ (AE) having to be restrained. Stewards took into account that AF ASEFAH (AE) was racing ungenerously throughout the race. AF ASEFAH (AE) was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and had to be restrained off heels. Apprentice M Monaghan (AMEER AL SRAYA (AE)) reported that he dropped his whip near the 400 metres.

On jumping MUTAZAMEN (GB) shifted out bumping SOWAYLM (GB). Shortly after the start CANADIAN (IRE) had to be eased off the heels of ROCKER (GB) which shifted in. Shortly after ROCKER (GB) and CAPITAL MARKET (USA) bumped on a number of occasions when racing tight. Rounding the home turn ETIJAAH (USA) layed out. Apprentice M Monaghan (ROCKER (GB)) reported that the gelding hung inwards throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of REGGAETON (ARG) revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Instruction 30(i),(iii)&(iv), as REGGAETON (ARG) had bled for the second occasion, Trainer Mr E Oertel (REGGAETON (ARG)) was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 90 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or Veterinary Officer.

MUNAAF (FR) jumped awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping SF BALQEES (AE) was tightened for room between SAHM AL LAIL (AE) and NASHMEE (FR) which shifted in. Apprentice D Muscutt (ALYASAT (FR)) reported that the filly made the turn into the straight awkwardly and shifted ground inwards. A post-race veterinary examination of SHUA’A AL GHARBIA (AE), which finished a distance last, revealed no abnormalities. Passing the 1400 metres REEH(FR) was held tight and placed in restricted racing room when MUSHAAREK (FR) shifted in slightly. AF ESTIHDAAF (AE) which was racing to the inside of REEH(FR) restrained and then clipped heels. Jockey P Hanagan (MUSHAAREK (FR) explained when he had crossed his mount had then eased up which had contributed to the incident. Jockey P Hanagan was warned and advised to ensure he is fully clear when crossing.

Approaching the 1200 metres JAP HAYMAN (AE), which was hanging in and over racing, shifted in taking MH DORZEN (AE) in onto MH SAMURAI (AE), which shifted in and hampered MUWAJAHA (AE). AMJAD AL DHAFRA (AE) raced wide without cover throughout. Over the concluding stages HADDAJ W’RSAN (AE) veered outwards abruptly. JAP JOKER (AE) hung out over the final 100 metres. Jockey X Ziani (JAP JOKER (AE)) was advised that he would is expected to stop using the whip and straighten his mount in a similar circumstance. Jockey X Ziani (JAP JOKER (AE)) was reprimand under the provisions of ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vi) for hitting his mount with excessive frequency. A post-race veterinary examination of BOSOOL (AE), which gave ground from the home turn, revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr A Al Shamsi (BOSOOL (AE)) was notified that prior to the mare being entered to race again it must complete a satisfactory track gallop.
