The adjourned inquiry into the bona fides and subsequent withdrawal of AL BORAQ W’RSAN (AE) in Race 1 at Jebel Ali on 14 November 2014 was concluded. Evidence was taken from Trainer Mr B Al Ketbi. It was established that the horse presented as AL BORAQ W’RSAN (AE) was in fact MOHEB W’RSAN (AE), a stablemate of AL BORAQ W’RSAN (AE). Mr B Al Ketbi explained that on entry to his stable, both horses were similar in colour and markings and there had been an internal mistake in his stable, which resulted in the horses being inadvertently swapped. Mr B Al Ketbi pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of ERA Rule 11(i) in that his negligence in in presenting the wrong horse to race at Jebel Ali on 14 November 2014 had led to a breach of ERA Rule 68(i). Mr B Al Ketbi was fined the sum of AED 5,000. HK AHLAWIYA (AE) – (W Smith): Slow to begin. RAAD W’RSAN (AE) – (D Muscutt): Commenced awkwardly. BARQ AL REEF (AE) – (O Murphy): Slow into stride. THA’ER (AE) – (R Ffrench): A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SABBAQ (AE) – (R Mullen): Raced wide without cover throughout. AL HAMRA (AE) – (S Hitchcott): Bounded on jumping. AS FAYZ (AE) – (H Bentley): After being placed in its barrier the colt became fractious rearing up. The colt was taken out of the barrier and underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to take its place in the race. GENERAL: Jockey D Muscutt (RAAD W’RSAN [AE]) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess. Jockey R Mullen (SABBAQ [AE]) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess.
