Subsequently underwent a precautionary veterinary examination and was passed fit to take its place in the field. Buffeted when racing in restricted room near the 800 metres. Lay in under pressure in the straight. MH AREEB (AE) – (G Buckell): After being placed in its barrier, the horse in the adjourning stall became extremely fractious. Subsequently underwent a precautionary veterinary examination and was passed fit to take its place in the field. AL HAMRA (AE) – (S Hitchcott): Was fractious in the barrier, flipping backwards. Was examined by the veterinary officer and deemed unfit to start and as a result was withdrawn by the order of the Stewards at 5:00pm. A stable representative of Trainer Dr J Bittar was notified that prior to the mare being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test and provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the mare. SNF MAHER (AE) – (M Monaghan): Bounded on jumping. RABDAN (FR) – (T O’Shea): Bumped shortly after the start. Lay in under pressure in the straight.

AL MOHANDES (AE) – (R Ffrench): Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. JAP FATTAN (AE) – (I Koyuncu): Began extremely awkwardly. AF SALEKAH (AE) – (O Murphy): Saddle had to be re-adjusted at the start. AL HARTH (AE) – (S Mazur): Slow to begin. HUYAM (AE) – (T O’Shea): Bumped and hampered shortly after the start. Had to be restrained off heels near the 1700 metres when over-racing. Approaching the 600 metres was taken in when placed close to the heels of another runner. GENERAL: Jockey S De Sousa (MAHDI [AE]) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for allowing his mount to shift in, near the 1700 metres, when not clear of HUYAM (AE) resulting in the filly having to be restrained. Stewards noted that HUYAM (AE) had been over-racing leading up to the incident. Apprentice I Koyuncu (JAP FATTAN) was questioned in regards to his riding of JAP FATTAN on jumping and in the early stages. Apprentice Koyuncu explained that the horse had commenced awkwardly and consequently missed the start and then he rode the horse along to take up a forward position and in doing so made contact with HUYAM (AE) (T. O’Shea). Apprentice Koyuncu was shown a film of this incident and in conjunction with a senior jockey was counseled on his riding in and from the barrier and in the early stages of the race.

AB TAJ AL MELOUK (AE) – (A Nienaber): On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination and was found to have blood in one nostril. Acting on veterinary advice the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the filly at 6.31pm. A subsequent endoscopic examination revealed a minor laceration in the offside nostril as well as significant mucus in the airway. Trainer Mr O Mohammed was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the filly. ANEEFA (AE) – (R Ffrench): After being slow to begin was hampered by another runner. Passing the 600 metres bumped by another runner. ARYAM AL BEDA’A (AE) – (I Koyuncu): Slow into stride. Shifted ground when being ridden along in the early stages. Shifted ground passing the 600 metres when commencing to tire. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the right fore leg. Trainer Mr M Al Shamsi was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the filly. AS BOUSHRA (AE) – (R Mullen): Hung out badly throughout proving difficult to ride in normal manner. Trainer Mr S Deeb was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory track gallop in the presence of an ERA steward. MOTTAA (AE) – (T O’Shea): Slow to begin then hampered by another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout. MOUHOOBAH (AE) – (AE) – (X Ziani): On proceeding to the barrier, struck the running rail and underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. NAKHWAT AL REEF (AE) – (J Rosales): Passing the 600 metres bumped by another runner when tightened for room. GENERAL: Trainer Mr A Al Shamsi (MOUHOOBAH [AE]) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for delayed application to race the filly in blinkers.

CHURCH MUSIC (IRE) – (P Dobbs): Shifted in on jumping away and bumped another runner. CONFORM WITH FACT (USA) – (S De Sousa): Rider reported that the saddle slipped backwards on jumping. Rider reported that due to the interference at the start he was unable to follow his instructions and ride forward.
