ABHAAR (AE) – (T O’Shea): After being placed in its barrier the colt became unruly, rearing up and getting its right fore-leg on the side board. The colt was taken out of its barrier and after undergoing a veterinary examination was withdrawn by the order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 5:00 pm. A further veterinary examination revealed the colt to have sustained a laceration to its right stifle. Trainer Mr. E Oertel was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. FAKHR W’RSAN (AE) – (S Al Mazrouei): Slow into stride and then refused to stretch out taking no part in the race. Trainer Mr. B Al Ketbi was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory track gallop. MOWAFQ (AE) – (S De Sousa): Raced greenly throughout. DALLAL W’RSAN (AE) – (S Hitchcott): Raced greenly throughout. HOOR AL AIN (AE) – (G Buckell): Made the turn into the home straight wide. GENERAL: Jockey S Al Mazrouei (FAKHR W’RSAN [AE]) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(b) in that after dismounting the colt he used the whip in an improper manner.

He further added that the horse raced very keenly and under these circumstances he elected to allow the horse to stride rather than to attempt to restrain it, as in his opinion this would have made the horse over-race even more.
