Approaching the 800 metres restrained and had to shift out to avoid the heels of a tiring runner and made heavy contact with another runner. Over the final 200 metres shifted outwards under pressure. MUNAFISAT AL REEF (AE) – (R Mullen): Momentarily steadied and changed direction inwards near the 150 metres. AF SALEKAH (AE) – (G Avranche): Bumped on jumping and lost ground. AL MANAL (AE) – (M Lawson): Bumped on jumping. Lay out at the turn into the home straight. DAMAS AL SHAHAMA (AE) – (S Al Mazrooei): Raced greenly throughout. MOTTAA (AE) – (S De Sousa): Slow to begin. Raced extremely greenly throughout. NAWARAT AL REEF (AE) – (J Rosales): Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 800 metres was bumped heavily and became unbalanced. SOBAIH W’RSAN (AE) – (D Muscutt): Saddle had to be re-adjusted at the start. Approaching the 800 metres the filly could not hold its position and dropped back through the field.

MEFTAH AL REEF (AE) – (W Smith): Lay out over the concluding stages. NIZAM AL GHARBIA (AE) – (O Murphy): Bumped shortly after the start. Restrained off heels near the 50 metres. SATAAR AL REEF (AE) – (R Mullen): Whilst doing its preliminary, the saddle slipped dislodging the rider. The colt was re-captured at the barrier, underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit to take its place in the field. AS YASS (AE) – (S Mazur): On straightening bumped and shifted outwards. AZ DHABYAN (AE) – (G Buckell): Slow to begin and raced wide without cover throughout. ES KRAM (AE) – (S De Sousa): Shortly after the start shifted in bumping another runner. SHAHBAR (AE) – (T O’Shea): Shortly after the start was tightened for room and lost ground. After this incident, the colt did not race truly and had to be steadied off heels. GENERAL: Trainer Mr. I Al Hadhrami (AS YASS [AE]) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for failing to declare blinkers for the colt by the prescribed time. Jockey W Smith (MEFTAH AL REEF [AE]) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 50 metres he permitted his mount to shift out resulting in NIZAM AL GHARBIA (AE) having to be restrained. W Smith had his license to ride in races suspended for two race-meetings (Meydan 31.12.2014 & Abu Dhabi 04.01.2015).

MAIGK DU PAON (FR) – (N Garbutt): After being placed in its barrier, the horse reared up getting its left foreleg over the side rail. The horse was eventually taken out of its barrier and after examination by the veterinary officer was withdrawn on order of the Stewards at 7:01pm. Trainer Mr E Lemartinel was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. AD SHBAS (AE) – (T O’Shea): Raced wide without cover. On straightening bumped another runner and became unbalanced. AZ ALDAHMA (AE) – (S Al Mazrooei): Slow to begin. UBU AL MELS (FR) – (D Muscutt): On straightening bumped another runner. MASHAHED (AE) – (S Al Taleei): Saddle had to be readjusted at the barrier. Passing the 400 metres was buffeted and checked. GENERAL: Stewards inquired into the reason for MASHAHED (AE) having to be checked passing the 400 metres. It was established that passing the 400 metres, in a tightly packed field, BARAK (AE) when racing close to the heels of UBU AL MELS (FR), shifted in slightly and as a result tightened TM AC-DC (US) onto MASHAHED (AE), which was buffeted and had to be checked. Jockey S Mazur (BARAK(AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding and advised in future he must exercise more care and make every effort to keep his mount straight. Jockey S Mazur (BARAK [AE]) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for hitting his mount continuously without giving it a chance to respond.
