Trainer Mr E Lemartinel was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. HUYAM (AE) – (G Buckell): Commenced awkwardly. Shifted outwards under pressure over the final 100 metres. MOTTAA (AE) – (P Dobbs): Over-raced in the early and middle stages. NAKHWAT AL REEF (AE) – (S Hitchcott): Over-raced in the early and middle stages. SHAMOOS AL GHARBIA (AE) – (L Steward): Slow to begin. Hung out throughout. Trainer Mr J Salman was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly and a repetition of this behaviour may result in an action being taken against the filly. GENERAL: Apprentice G Buckell (HUYAM [AE]) was shown a video of the straight and was strongly advised that in future when his mounts shift ground he is to make every effort to keep them straight.

Trainer Mr. O D Mohammed was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding. MAHDI (AE) – (D O’Neill): Slow to begin. AL WAQQAD (AE) – (M Monaghan): Raced wide throughout. MAGIK DU PAON (FR) – (W Smith): Over-raced in the early stages. TM AC-DC (US) – (S Karlsson): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 75 metres rider was accidently struck on the left hand by the whip of another rider and consequently dropped his whip.

A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. GENERAL: Jockey H Bentley (THAKIF [FR]) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess (one (1) strike over). Jockey H Bentley (THAKIF [FR]) was fined AED 1500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 60B(c)(vii) for hitting his mount continuously over the concluding stages without giving the horse a chance to respond. In considering penalty in these matters, Stewards took into account Jockey Bentley’s excellent record in relation to whip breaches, the circumstances of these breaches and the status of this race.
