GENERAL: Jockey O Murphy (DAHHAM W’RSAN [AE]) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), for permitting his mount to shift in approaching the 1000m, when not sufficiently clear of QAIS W’RSAN (AE) which had to be restrained and shifted out, inconveniencing HOOR AL AIN (AE) which also shifted out, resulting in AF MATHMOON (AE) having to be eased off that filly’s heels. IBN HARMONY AL ZOBAIR (AE), which was following was also hampered in this incident. Stewards took into account that DAHHAM W’RSAN (AE) was racing greenly when being ridden along in the early stages.

BANAN AL REEF (AE) – (R Mullen): Inconvenienced approaching the winning post on the first occasion. DALAA (QA) – (R Ffrench): Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after a request from its rider. Acting on veterinary advice, that the mare was lame in the left hind leg, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the mare at 7.56pm. Trainer Mr O Mohammed was advised that prior to entering the mare to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the mare. MAFTOON AL REEF (AE) – (M Monaghan): Approaching the 100 metres was unbalanced when attempting to improve into a tight run between runners. Buffeted and became unbalanced approaching the winning post. MOHEB W’RSAN (AE) – (O Murphy): Slow to begin. DHU AL REESH W’RSAN (AE) – (D O’Neill): Raced ungenerously in the early stages. JAMILA AL REEF (AE) – (J Rosales): Bumped approaching the winning post. GENERAL: Apprentice M Monaghan (MAFTOON AL REEF [AE]) was reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), for attempting to take a run approaching the 100m between MAJOR (FR) and JAMILA AL REEF (AE), where there was insufficient room. Jockey W Smith (MAJOR [FR]) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), for permitting his mount to shift out over the final 75 metres, tightening MAFTOON AL REEF (AE), which was buffeted and unbalanced, and then carried outwards bumping JAMILA AL REEF (AE). W Smith had his licence to ride in races suspended for two race-meetings (Al Ain 05.03.2015 and Jebel Ali 06.03.2015). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account W Smith’s recent record under this rule and his guilty plea. Further W Smith was had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period one race-meeting (Meydan 07.03.2015) under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using his whip to excess. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account that this was W Smith’s fourth offence under this rule for the season and that he would miss the Super Saturday meeting at Meydan.
