BIGG N RICH (US) – (W Smith): Lay inwards near the 50 metres. GHALIB (FR) – (S Al Mazrouei): Slow to begin and could not muster pace in the early stages. SHATEH (FR) – (S De Sousa): Momentarily restrained near the 50 metres. TAKAAMUL (GB) – (R Ffrench): Began awkwardly. GENERAL: Stewards inquired into the reason for SHATEH (FR) steadying near the 50 metres. Jockey S De Sousa (SHATEH [FR]) explained that whilst BIGG N RICH (US) lay inwards slightly at that stage, his horse had over reacted to the incident and as a result had to be steadied. Whilst the Stewards acknowledged that SHATEH (FR) had over reacted to slight tightening Jockey W Smith was advised that he is to make every effort to keep his mount straight when they shift.

Subsequently the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was withdrawn at 7:21pm by the order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer Mr S Seemar was notified that prior to the gelding being entered into race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. BELLMINER (GB) – (G Buckell): Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages and raced greenly from the 800 metres. ONE MAN BAND (IRE) – (P Dobbs): Slow to being. LAYALI AL ANDALUS (GB) – (M Monaghan): Commenced awkwardly losing ground. Over-raced in the early and middle stages and raced wide without cover. SEFRI (USA) – (D O’Neill): Passing the winning post the first time was held tight and steadied. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider explained that the gelding had travelled well throughout however, when let down approaching the home turn it failed to respond and dropped back thought the field. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a small laceration to its right fore cannon. NEED TO KNOW (SAF) – (R Ffrench): Over-raced in the early stages getting its head up. GOLDEN AQUILA (IRE) – (W Smith): Slow into stride. YASEER (IRE) – (S Al Mazrooei): Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
