KANAF (IRE) – (G Buckell): Shortly after the start had to be steadied. KILT ROCK (IRE) – (P Dobbs): A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had pulled up with heat stress. FILS ANGES (IRE) – (A de Vries): Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. JOURNEYMAN (SAF) – (W Smith): When questioned, the rider explained that the gelding had travelled well in the early stages, but when put under pressure did not accelerate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. MAKE IT REEL (FR) – (S Hitchcott): Passing the 500 metres, when racing ungenerously, shifted outwards when steadying of heels. DESUETUDE (AUS) – (R Mullen): Rider reported that the gelding hung out throughout and did not feel sound in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. HATTAASH (GB) – (D O’Neill): Knuckled at the start. KIFAAH (GB) – (S Al Mazrouei): Shifted outwards abruptly near the 500 metres. MALTESE CAT (IRE) – (S De Sousa): Approaching the 500 metres had to be momentarily steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. GENERAL: Stewards inquired into the reason for SPIRIT OF BATTLE (USA) restraining off heels near the 500 metres. On inquiry it was established that when racing onto the course proper, KIFAAH (GB) shifted outwards taking MAKE IT REEL (FR) out and tightened SPIRIT OF BATTLE (USA) on to the heels of FILS ANGES (IRE). Whilst the Stewards were of the view that the racing manners of KIFAAH (GB) and MAKE IT REEL (FR) when racing onto the course proper contributed to the interference, apprentice S Al Mazrouei was advised to exercise more care in future and make every effort to keep his mount straight.

MIZBAH (GB) – (P Dobbs): When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance, the rider explained that after beginning from a wide barrier the gelding did not appreciate the kickback throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. WATHEEQ (USA) – (D O’Neill): Slow to begin. HARD DIVORCE (USA) – (W Smith): Hung in throughout. IKHTISAS (USA) – (C Hardie): Commenced awkwardly. Approaching the 1200 metres had to be checked when tightened for room. OAKHAM (GB) – (C Sandoval): Commenced awkwardly then shifting out bumping another runner. ESTEBAN (GB) – (T O’Shea): Rider reported that he felt that there was something amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. BLUE TIGER’S EYE (IRE) – (A Ajtebi): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the gelding performance, the rider explained that after beginning awkwardly he rode the gelding vigorously in the early stages however it did not respond to his riding and failed to stretch out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. ON WAR (USA) – (R Mullen): Prior to a start, was fractious in the barrier attempting to get under the front gate and as a result underwent a veterinary examination and was withdrawn by the order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 5:54pm. Trainer Mr S Seemar was notified that prior to the gelding being entered into race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test as well as providing a veterinary certificate of fitness. RAMONTI FLASH (IRE) – (M Monaghan): Prior to a start, was fractious in the barrier getting its right foreleg caught on the side partition and as a result underwent a veterinary examination and was withdrawn by the order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 5:56pm. Trainer Mr S Seemar was notified that prior to the gelding being entered into race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test as well as providing a veterinary certificate of fitness. GENERAL: Stewards inquired into the reason for IKHTISAS (USA) being checked approaching the 1200 metres. It was established that approaching the 1200 metres HARD DIVORCE (USA) which hung in throughout the race, shifted in despite the efforts of its rider to keep the gelding straight and as a result IKHTISAS (USA) had to be checked. Accordingly no action was taken against any rider. The Stewards will contact Trainer F Nass regarding the racing manner of HARD DIVORCE (USA). Jockey A Ajtebi (BLUE TIGERS EYE [IRE]) was warned under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(ii) for continuing to hit his mount after its chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone.
