FRONTIER FIGHTER (GB) – (D O’Neill): Raced wide without cover throughout. GROUNDBREAKING (GB) – (C Hardie): Slow to begin. I’M BACK (IRE) – (J Doyle): Hung inwards in the straight. BUSKER (USA) – (A De Vries): Bumped at the 100 metres. GIFTORM (USA) – (S De Sousa): Restrained approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion when racing keenly and in restricted room. Impeded passing the 800 metres. TIZ NOW TIZ THEN (USA) – (R Mullen): Slow to begin. NOT A GIVEN (USA) – (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly getting its head up. When questioned, rider explained that the horse was unsettled in the barrier and commenced awkwardly, over-raced in the early and middle stages and approaching the 900 metres commenced to tire and dropped back through the field. Further, he was of the opinion that the horse did not stay the distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Trainer Mr M Halford was spoken to regarding the pre-race behaviour of the gelding. Mr Halford advised that the gelding had been difficult at its last two starts which was out of character and that he would attempt to rectify its manners by considering a change of equipment at its next start. ANOTHER PARTY (FR) – (J Spencer): Slow to begin. When questioned, rider explained that the colt had become unsettled in the barrier when the runner to the inside of him had become unruly. MUFARRH (IRE) – (S Al Mazrouei): Bumped on jumping. BELLO (AUS) – (A Kirby): A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. BOOMSHACKERLACKER (IRE) – (R Mullen): Tightened for room, checked and carried inwards near the 1000 metres. ENCIPHER (USA) – (R Ffrench): Bumped on jumping. SILVER OCEAN (USA) – (A De Vries): Unsettled in the barrier. Tightened for room near the 1000 metres, bumped and became unbalanced. Lost its right-fore plate during the race. GENERAL: Jockey D O’Neill (ERTIJAAL [IRE]) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), for shifting in near the 1000 metres when not clear of BOOMSHACKERLACKER (IRE), tightening and carrying that gelding in onto UNITED COLOR (USA), which shifted in and buffeted with FREE WHEELING (AUS), which checked significantly and becoming extremely unbalanced. RUSSIAN SOUL (IRE) and SILVER OCEAN (USA) were also inconvenienced. D O’Neill had his license to ride in races suspended for two race meetings (08.02.2015 Al Ain and 12.02.2015 Meydan) Jockey O Murphy (UNITED COLOR [USA]) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess. Jockey R Ffrench (ENCIPHER [USA]) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess.

ALMOONQITH (USA) – (D O’Neill): When questioned regarding his riding approaching the 300 metres, rider explained that at that stage of the race, he was about to take a marginal run however the runner on the inside had commenced to angle outwards and consequently he was held up for a short distance before getting clear running. SCIGHERA (GB) – (J Crowley): Slow to begin. EAVESDROPPER (GB) – (R Mullen): Slow to begin. Was blocked for a clear run from approaching the turn into the straight until approaching the 200 metres. ANTINORI (IRE) – (W Smith): Was blocked for a clear run from on straightening until the 250 metres. ZAIN EAGLE (GB) – (C Hardie): Found to have trauma to its right eye and acting on veterinary advice Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 10:03pm. Trainer Mr R Cowell was advised that prior to the horse being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate for the gelding.
