MASEH ASF (GB) – (R Mullen): Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race TATWEER (FR) – (D O’Neill): When questioned rider explained that the gelding had to be ridden hard in the early stages but then exhibited no racing interest and dropped back through the field. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened from the 1400 metres and was eased out of the race passing the 1000 metres, revealed no abnormalities. RAAZIQ (FR) – (H Bentley): After being fractious in the barrier prior to the start the horse stumbled on jumping, unbalancing its rider and losing ground. Raced wide without cover in the early stages.

Rider reported that the colt lost a left-fore plate during running and after this became unbalanced and did not race truly. Trainer Mr M de Kock was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again it must pass a suitability test conducted by an ERA veterinary officer. JOHANN STRAUSS (GB) – (D O’Neill): Slow into stride. CALLING OUT (FR) – (J Crowley): Slow into stride. ELLEVAL (IRE) – (R Hughes): Saddle had to be re-adjusted at the barriers. TRADE STORM (GB) – (A Atzeni): Slow to begin. Held up for a clear run approaching the 300 metres before being angled outwards to obtain clear a clear run. MR POMMEROY (FR) – (M Barzalona): Raced wide without cover in the early stages.
