NICHEM AL MELS (FR) – (S De Sousa): Had difficulty obtaining a clear run approaching the 600 metres. MH SAMURAI (AE) – (J Santiago): Checked near the 200 metres. WALD JOHNNY (AE) – (G Buckell): Buffeted on jumping. JOYOUS DREAM (FR) – (O Murphy): Lay outwards over the final 200 metres. SAIF ALARAB (AE) – (D O’Neill): Sustained an injury to the right hock while being transported to the racecourse. On arriving on track, underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit to take its place in the field. Commenced awkwardly. GENERAL: Apprentice A Alshowaikh (MAGHAZI [GB]) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 34(vi) for failing to claim his full allowance. Apprentice A Alshowaikh (MAGHAZI [GB]) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that passing the 200 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of MH SAMURAI (AE), resulting in that colt being significantly checked. Apprentice A Alshowaikh had his license to ride in races suspended for two (2) race-meetings (Meydan 08.01.2015 & Jebel Ali 09.01.2015). Apprentice A Alshowaikh (MAGHAZI [GB]) pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to ride his mount out to the satisfaction of the Stewards pursuant to ERA Rule 69(iii), in that approximately 30 metres from the finish, for several strides he stopped riding his mount before commencing to ride it out again. Apprentice A Alshowaikh had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race-meetings (Al Ain 10.01.2015, Meydan 15.01.2015 & Meydan 17.01.2015). This suspension is to be served cumulatively with his suspension for careless riding and as such Apprentice A Alshowaikh is suspended from riding in races for 5 racemeetings.

AF AL RAQIB (AE) – (G Buckell): On arriving at the barrier the colt underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to take its place in the field. Shortly after the start commenced to over-race, throwing its head up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MOHEB W’RSAN (AE) – (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout. WAKEED W’RSAN (AE) – (T O’Shea): Commenced awkwardly throwing its head up. Rider explained that he had ridden the horse into the straight but passing the 400 metres WAKEED W’RSAN (AE) commenced to race ungenerously changing stride and felt amiss in its action. Under those circumstances he elected to ease the horse down as he had concerns for the welfare of the horse. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. GENERAL: Jockey D Smith (REEH [FR]) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess.
