Rider reported that the gelding over-raced in the early and middle stages but when placed under pressure at the turn into the straight failed to respond and did not run on. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MAQARAAT (IRE) – (D O’Neill): Fractious in the barriers prior to the start then slow into stride. When questioned regarding the gelding’s poor performance rider explained that the gelding failed to run on in the straight when placed under pressure. OSTAAD (IRE) – P Dobbs): Commenced awkwardly. Taken wide approaching the 1400 metres. GEORGETOWN (GB) – (F Tylicki): Steadied at the 1400 metres than lay outwards. TANSEEB (GB) – (S Al Mazrooei): Bumped on jumping. HACIENDA (IRE) – (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly. ABSOLUTE SWAY (GB) – (P Convertino): Inconvenienced and taken outwards approaching the turn at the 1400 metres.
