AHMADANI (AE) – (R Ffrench): On arriving on course, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the left fore leg. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards withdrew the horse at 1.37 pm. Trainer Mr. H. Al Alawi was advised that the horse is required to undergo a suitability test before being entered to race again. ASSAMT (AE) – (J Santiago): Slow to begin. BANAN AL REEF (AE) – (F Jara): Made the turn at the 1200 metres awkwardly. HAKIM (AE) – (P Dobbs): Over-raced in the early stages. INAYAT W'RSAN (AE) – (D Probert): Commenced awkwardly and then raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. MAHDI (AE) – (T O'Shea): Raced wide without cover throughout and made the turn at the 1200 metres awkwardly. ARAGORN FORTA (AE) – (C Hayes): Was fractious in the barrier prior to the start, rearing up and as a consequence was slow to begin.

General: Stewards inquired into the reason for BLUFF (USA) (C Hayes) steadying and becoming unbalanced near the 1400 metres. On inquiry, it was established that at that stage (SEFRI (USA)) (P Hanagan) had lay in slightly onto BLUFF (USA). Jockey C Hayes (BLUFF (USA)) explained that he had steadied the colt but it had commenced to over-race at that stage of the race and had contributed to the steadying. Stewards took no further action apart from advising P Hanagan that he is expected to make every effort to keep his mounts straight. Jockey R Mullen (FARRIER (USA)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B (a) for using the whip to excess; two more than permitted. Jockey D O’Neill (HAATHEQ (USA)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c) (i) for hitting his mount in front of the saddle whilst holding the whip in the forehand on four occasions.
