DESERT SKYWALKER (IRE) – (C Hayes): Bumped at the start. Over-raced passing the winning post on the first occasion. Passing the 800 metres when weakening had to be steadied when bumped by another runner. FA’IZ (IRE) – (D Probert): Near the 500 metres had to be momentarily steadied. INDUS RIVER (IRE) – (T O’Shea): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. PIEPOWDER COURT (IRE) – (R Mullen): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr S Seemar was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory track gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. STAMFORD (GB) – (W Smith): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr I Mohammed was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory track gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. STAR OF BROADWAY (GB) – (R Ffrench): Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider reported the gelding hung out throughout the event. WAFOUD (GB) – (F Jara): Raced tightly near the 800 metres shifting in making contact with another runner. CARBON DATING (IRE) – (H Crouch): Approaching the 200 metres shifted inwrads inwards. MAKZON (USA) – (G Avranche): Steadied approaching the 200 metres changing course to obtain clear running. RICH AND RIGHTEOUS (IRE) – (F Tylicki): Bumped on jumping and then stumbled. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for DESERT SKYWALKER (IRE)(C Hayes) having to be steadied passing the 800 metres. On inquiry it was established that DESERT SKYWALKER (IRE)(C Hayes) had commenced to weaken passing the 800 metres and was then bumped by WAFOUD (GB)(F Jara) to his outside, who had been racing in restricted room. As a result DESERT SKYWALKER (IRE) had to be steadied. Jockey F Hara was advised to exercise more care in a similar circumstance in future. Stewards inquired into the reason for MAKZON (USA) (G Avranche) steadying and changing direction outwards near the 200 metres. It was established that at that stage, CARBON DATING (IRE) had shifted in slightly. Apprentice H Crouch was warned under the provisions of ERA rule 69(i) and advised that in future he is to make every effort to keep his mounts straight.
