HASANOUR (USA) – (J Spencer): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance the rider explained that the gelding had become agitated at the barrier and had “sweated up” and in his opinion this had affected the gelding’s performance. Further the gelding never travelled at any stage in the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ANTINORI (IRE) – (T O’Shea): Commenced awkwardly throwing its head. Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 200 metres. CODE OF HONOUR (GB) – (W Buick): Hung out throughout. VAASA (IRE) – (F Jara): Over-raced in the early stages. ZEN ZANSAI ZAID (SWE) – (C Hayes): Proved difficult to be loaded in its barrier. Trainer T Gustafsson was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. General: Trainer Mr N Al Mandeel (BAYRIR (FR)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late application to race the gelding in a shadow roll. BAYRIR (FR) raced with a shadow roll.

A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. BOSSY GUEST (IRE) – (C Bishop): Slow to begin. Had difficulty in obtaining a clear passage in the straight. DARK EMERALD (IRE) – (P Dobbs): Checked approaching the 200 metres. GLORY AWAITS (IRE) – (J Spencer): Commenced awkwardly. BATTLE OF MARATHON (USA) – (G Buckell): Slow into stride. EASTERN RULES (IRE) – (J Doyle): Slow to begin. MASHAAREF (GB) – (P Hanagan): Over-raced in the middle stages. MERHEE (AUS) – (H Crouch): Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide without cover throughout. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the straight. General: Apprentice H Crouch (MERHEE (AUS)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that approaching the 200 metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of DARK EMERALD (IRE)(P Dobbs), resulting in that gelding having to be checked. Apprentice H Crouch had his license to ride in races suspended for two race meetings. (Meydan 16.01.2016 & Abu Dhabi 17.01.2016). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the degree of carelessness to be in the mid-range and took into account Apprentice H Crouch’s guilty plea and good careless riding record.
