SHAMAL (GB) – (F Tylicki): Veered inwards on jumping bumping another runner. STAMFORD (GB) – (G Buckell): Bumped and carried inwards on jumping. Hung out passing the 500 metres and on straightening bumped another runner. When questioned rider explained that the gelding had a tendency to lay out through out and passing the 500 metres commenced to hang out shifting off the rail into the straight. CARBON DATING (IRE) – (M Fernandes): Steadied approximately 100 metres after the start. Over raced in the early stages. JUNUNEE (IRE) – (D O’Neill): Slow to begin. SKYGAZER (IRE) – (T O’Shea): Bumped several times on straightening. YUKON GOLD (GB) – (C Hayes): Commenced awkwardly then bumped heavily and carried inwards. SIMPLY (GB) – (C Sanchez): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover in the early and the middle stages. General: Trainer Mr S Seemar (CARBON DATING (IRE)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for presenting the gelding in the mounting yard with earplugs when not officially requesting to have the gelding parade in them. Jockey W Smith (BAROOT (GB)) was reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), for allowing his mount to shift in approximately 100 metres after the start causing CARBON DATING (IRE) (M Fernandes) to steady.

After being placed in its barrier MUKHABARAT (IRE) (P Dobbs) became fractious, rearing up. Whilst stall handlers were attempting to settle that horse, SKY JOCKEY (GB) (R. Mullen) broke through its barrier and galloped a short distance. After returning to the start both SKY JOCKEY (GB) and MUKHABARAT (IRE) underwent a veterinary examination and both horses passed fit to take their places in the field. After SKY JOCKEY (GB) had been re-loaded and MUKHABARAT (IRE) was being led to its barrier, other horses had become unsettled and triggered the release of the barriers resulting in a false start. The field galloped a short distance before all horses were restrained by their riders and returned to the start. All horses underwent a veterinary examination and all where passed fit to start. After being placed in its barrier, MUKHABARAT (IRE) again became fractious rearing up and getting both its front legs over the side partition. MUKHABARAT (IRE) was taken out of its barrier and after undergoing a veterinary examination was withdrawn by the order of the Stewards at 6.30 pm. These occurrences delayed the start of the race by 10 minutes. Trainer Mr D Watson (MUKHABARAT (IRE)) was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again it must complete two satisfactory stalls test. MURASIL (USA) – (W Smith): Commenced awkwardly SKY JOCKEY (GB) – (R Mullen): Prior to the start broke through the barrier galloping a short distance. Returned to the barrier and underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit to start. Held up for a clear run rounding the home turn until entering the straight. Angled outwards passing the 200 metres. DARKENING (IRE) – (C Hayes): Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. GHAZI (IRE) – (D O’Neill): Shifted its right hind plate during the race. MUKHABARAT (IRE) – (P Dobbs): Became extremely fractious when placed in its barrier rearing up and getting both its front legs over the side partition. Underwent a veterinary examination and was withdrawn by the order of the Stewards at 6.30 pm. FLORESTAN (GB) – (C Bishop): Slow to begin. PERIPHERY (USA) – (O Murphy): Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. IKHTISAS (USA) – (F Jara): Raced wide without cover throughout. NATURAL LAW (IRE) – (J Rosales): Slow to begin. Steadied near the 300 metres.

SADEEK’S SONG (USA) – (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin. Shortly after the start the saddle shifted back placing the rider in some difficulty. NEED TO KNOW (SAF) – (T O’Shea): Approximately 200 metres after the start commenced to race erratically shifting wide on the track. Rider then allowed the gelding to stride forward. NOT A GIVEN (USA) – (M Fernandes): As the start was effected, the gelding reared getting its head in the adjoining barrier and consequently missed the start badly losing considerable ground. General: Trainer M Al Subouse’s representative advised the ERA Paddock Stewards that the gear shown in the race card for SEA SHANTY (USA) (SHADOW ROLL) and SADEEK’S SONG (USA) (BLINKERS1) was incorrect and should have in fact been reversed. Stewards granted permission for SEA SHANTY (USA) to race in blinkers and SADEEK’S SONG (USA) to race in a shadow roll. Trainer M Al Subouse was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late application to change gear.
