HOMBRE ROJO (IRE) – (H Bentley): Lost its left fore plate during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the colt to be lame in the left fore leg. Trainer Mr S Dow was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the colt. BLUE CREEK (GB) – (W Buick): Slow to begin and shifted out bumping another runner. Mis-strode and lost its coordination near the 1200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a suspected pelvic injury and the colt was transported to the Dubai Equine Hospital for further examination. LAZZAM (GB) – (C Soumillon): Slow into stride and bumped on jumping. Steadied passing the 1200 metres. MARKET RALLY (USA) – (P Smullen): Over-raced in the early stages. Lay out passing the 100 metres. General: Jockey C Soumillon pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of ERA Rule 62(ix) for attempting to weigh out with a non-approved safety vest. C Soumillon was suspended for three race-meetings (Jebel Ali 18.03.2016, Al Ain 19.03.2016 & Abu Dhabi 20.03.2016) and also fined AED 5000. Stewards took into account that C Soumillon had offended under this rule in the past. Jockey C Soumillon will not be permitted to ride in any racing jurisdiction on these dates.

REMBRANDT VAN RIJN (IRE) – (M Barzalona): At the request of the rider the gelding was examined by the ERA Veterinary Officers at the barriers and was found to be lame in the left foreleg. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 6.17 pm. Trainer Mr S bin Ghadayer was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding. DARIYAN (FR) – (C Soumillon): Shifted out on jumping. When questioned as to the reason for not using the whip, Jockey C Soumillion explained that he had urged the colt along and it was giving its best. He added that approaching the 100 metres the colt had peaked on its run and under these circumstances he elected not to use the whip but continued to ride the colt out. BALIOS (IRE) – (J Spencer): Saddle had to be re-adjusted on arrival at the barriers. Threw its head on jumping and slow into stride. POSTPONED (IRE) – (A Atzeni): Bounded on jumping shifting in.

STORM BELT (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Passing the wining post on the first occasion commenced to race ungenerously getting its head up. Continued to over-race for a short distance. KEEN ICE (USA) – (R Moore): Commenced awkwardly losing ground. Raced wide without cover throughout. When questioned, the rider explained that the colt was not suited to racing more forward than usual and did not appreciate the early pace. Further he was obliged to race wide throughout which had impacted on the colt’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
