KANCOON (AE) – (J Rosales): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. QAITAR AL REEF (AE) – (R Mullen): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. Rider reported that the horse did not appreciate the going. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), trainer Mr A Al Hammadi was notified that the horse would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. General: Jockey Xavier Ziani was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess. (one strike over). Trial Report AAHAD (AE) (Trainer J Salman) was withdrawn from Trial 2 when the bona fides of the horse could not be verified. An inquiry was opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed in regards to this matter.
