SARAB AL REEF (AE) – (F Jara): Made the crossing near the 1200 metres awkwardly. SHAHEEN AL THANI (AE) – (S Mazur): Raced wide without cover throughout. VLAD ALAWDA (AE) – (D Probert): Slow to begin. WAQQAS (AE) – (H Crouch): On arrival at the barrier the colt underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be lame at the left fore leg. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the colt at 5.27pm. VAASA (IRE) – (X Ziani): Jockey questioned regarding the tactics employed in the early stages of this race in leading which appeared to be out of pattern with past races. Jockey explained that he was instructed to lead and he had followed these instructions. Trainer Mr A bin Harmash confirmed these instructions as the horse had raced handy when running 3rd in a Group 3 race at Abu Dhabi on 15 March 2015. He was of the opinion that the horse is better suited to leading and consequently instructed the jockey accordingly. He further added that the horse would be gelded and sent for a spell. GOLDEN AQUILA (IRE) – (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly. MAID OF THE GLENS (IRE) – (H Crouch): Shifted in on jumping bumping another runner. BLUE TIGER'S EYE (IRE) – (D Probert): Slow to begin.

This gave JAMILA AL REEF (AE) a run to the inside of AS ALKHATTAF (AE), which then lay inwards, when being struck with the whip, resulting in JAMILA AL REEF (AE) having to be restrained. R Ffrench was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding and advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.
