A notification of the alteration was made via the ERA Twitter feed and an announcement at the course at the commencement of the meeting. SHEEBA (GB) - (P Dobbs): Slow to begin. RICH AND RIGHTEOUS (IRE) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. ETIBAAR (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Shortly after start had to be steadied when slightly tightened for room. Rider explained that the gelding failed to show any early speed and would be better suited over a further distance than today’s event. General: Jockey A Fresu (TADMIR [USA]) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 14 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was his first offence under this rule for the season.

PUPIL (IRE) - (R Mullen): Over the final 200 metres shifted ground when under pressure. TABREEK (USA) - (P Dobbs): Rounding the home turn the gelding went amiss and the rider dismounted near the 800 metres. The veterinarian reported that the gelding had sustained a severe fracture to its left fore cannon bone and as a result had to be humanely euthanized. ORMINDO (USA) - (R Ffrench): Rider reported that the gelding commenced to weaken shortly after straightening and in his opinion was disappointing in its efforts today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer Mr A bin Harmash was notified that prior to the gelding entering to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating that ORMINDO (USA) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed 14 days after the event. PICTOGRAPH (USA) - (X Ziani): Commenced to race ungenerously from the 1400 metres and shifted ground outwards when making the turn at the 1200 metres. Rider reported that the colt raced ungenerously with the addition of a visor today. He further added that the colt laid out considerably rounding the turn and would improve from the experience.

The start of the race was delayed 4 minutes due to PETERKIN (IRE) being reshod and the loose horse needing to be recaptured. RAFEEJ (GB) - (F Jara): When questioned regarding the poor performance of the horse, the rider explained his mount never travelled well throughout and over the concluding stages he did not persist on riding the horse out, as its chances of being placed were clearly gone. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SHOLAAN (IRE) - (C Hayes): Was fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. GREEB (GB) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin and bumped by another runner shortly after. GOBOOLL (GB) - (A McLean): On the way to the start, the gelding dislodged its rider near the 800 metres and galloped for some distance prior to being recaptured. As in the opinion of the Stewards the gelding had galloped a considerable distance, under the provisions of ERA Rule 8 (xii), they ordered the withdrawal of GOBOOLL (GB) at 3:45pm. ALMARGO (IRE) - (X Ziani): Shifted out abruptly on jumping away. PETERKIN (IRE) - (S Mazur): Had its right fore plate reshod in the parade ring.
