JALADEE (GB) - (J Doyle): When questioned regarding the performance, the rider reported that the gelding changed strides during the race and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slower than normal recovery rate. COPPERBELT (GB) - (M Monaghan): Commenced awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Rider reported that after the start the gelding failed to stretch out and took no competitive part in the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MOUNTAIN LION (IRE) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. QANNAAS (USA) - (D O'Neill): Commenced awkwardly. HUNDRED STEPS (IRE) - (P Sirigu): Acting on veterinary advice that the filly had sustained a laceration to the head and was unsuitable to start, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of HUNDRED STEPS (IRE) at 1:45 pm. Trainer Mr R Boursely was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the filly. General: Trainer Mr R Boursely was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 68(i) for failing to present HUNDRED STEPS (IRE) on course one hour prior to the commencing of this race. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account that HUNDRED STEPS (IRE) was a late withdrawal.

GAVROCHE (USA) - (C Noble): Commenced awkwardly then steadied off heels shortly after. Made the turn at the 1200 metres awkwardly. DOCKET (USA) - (P Dobbs): Near the 1200 metres was inconvenienced by another runner, then forced wider off the track. LEHAAF (ARG) - (M Monaghan): At the request of the rider, was examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the barriers and passed suitable to race. Near the 1200 metres shifted outwards. Rider reported to the Stewards that the gelding made a respiratory noise during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. CLASSICAL DUET (USA) - (B Reis): Slow to begin. ENERY (IRE) - (F Jara): Stumbled on jumping. Made the turn at the 1200 metres awkwardly, running wider with out cover from that point. I'TILAF (GB) - (T O'Shea): Approaching the 1200 metres commenced to over-race making the turn awkwardly. SPECIAL BOY (IRE) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin. General: Trainer Mr R Bouresly (CLASSICAL DUET (USA)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change in racing the horse with blinkers. Rider C O’Donoghue was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 57(vi), for being unable to ride the gelding at the declared weight, and subsequently having to be replaced. Rider P Sirigu (TIDES RISE (USA)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 15 occasions. In determining penalty Stewards took into account that this was P Sirigu’s first offence under this rule, the number of strikes used with the whip and that his mount won the race by the official margin of a nose.
