LOVE TO DANCE (US) - (F Jara): Over-raced. Near the 1200 metres, when improving onto the heels of another runner shifted out, clipped heels and blundered. Continued to over-race for some distance. HATHLOOL (AE) - (R Mullen): Commenced to give ground from the 800 metres. When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, the rider reported that when placed under pressure HATHLOOL (AE) failed to respond to his riding and lost ground from that point. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MEGNAAS (ARG) – (C Soumillon): Checked when tightened for room approaching the 400 metres. GREY BRITAIN (GB) - (M Harley): Hampered at the start between other runners. Over-raced in the early stages. Approaching the 400 metres improved between runners where there was insufficient room and bumped with another runner. MIRDIF (GB) - (P Smullen): Shifted in at the start and hampered another runner. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the colt, the rider explained that MIRDIF (GB) pulled throughout and was a beaten runner on straightening. WHIRL ME ROUND (GB) - (M Monaghan): Dislodged its rider during the preliminary and galloped for some distance before being captured, returned to the barrier then underwent a veterinary examination. Stewards, acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was unsuitable to race, ordered WHIRL ME ROUND (GB) a late withdrawal at 7:03pm. GENERAL LINE (USA) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly. Bumped and tightened for room approaching the 400 metres by another runner. ISLAND VISION (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. General: Jockey M Harley (GREY BRITAIN (GB)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars being that approaching the 400 metres he committed to a run between ALMIZHAR (IRE)(G Mesetovic) and GENERAL LINE (USA)(R Mullen), where in the opinion of the Stewards there was insufficient room, resulting in GREY BRITAIN (GB) bumping with GENERAL LINE (USA) and taking that filly out onto MEGNAAS (ARG)(C Soumillon), which in turn was taken out and had to be checked off the heels of MIRDIR (GB)(P Smullen). In laying the charge Stewards acknowledged minor shifts from ALMIZHAR (IRE) and MIRDIF (GB). M Harley had his license to ride in races suspended for two race meetings (Meydan 23.02.2017 and Al Ain 24.02.2017). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account M Harley’s guilty plea, good careless riding record and deemed the interference to be in the mid-range.

VOICE OF TRUTH (IRE) - (C O'Donoghue): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the filly, the rider could offer no explanation other than when placed under pressure approaching the 1000 metres VOICE OF TRUTH (IRE) failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. NOMORERICHBLONDES (USA) - (A Fresu): Tightened for room near the 1300 metres. SASHA WALTZ (IRE) - (F Jara): Eased off heels shortly after the start and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr F Reuterskiold was notified that SASHA WALTZ (IRE) would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. FURSA (AUS) - (C Soumillon): When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, the rider explained that FURSA (AUS) commenced to give ground quickly when under pressure and for this reason did not ride the filly out in his normal manner. He further added that, in his opinion, there was something amiss with FURSA (AUS). A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer Mr M de Kock was notified that prior to the filly being entered to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating the FURSA (AUS) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed fourteen (14) days after the event. MELESINA (IRE) - (P Smullen): Near the 1300 metres taken in slightly by another runner. CALARE (IRE) - (W Buick): Rider reported that the saddle shifted back shortly after the start placing him at a disadvantage during the race. REALLY SPECIAL (GB) - (J Crowley): Bumped at the start. Near the 1300 metres got its head up when being restrained and shifted in. SPANISH MOON (RUS) - (Z Kashirgov): Difficult to load, resulting in this race starting approximately two minutes late. Trainer Mr D Watson was notified the prior to the filly being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. Hampered between other runners at the start and lost ground. COMPLIMENTI (USA) - (P Dobbs): Shifted in at the start and hampered another runner.
